Do you think Wilshere will ever get there?

He's had a very serious injury. I don't think he'll ever be as good as could have, I know that.

if you're going to play for a EPL side as a youth you need to be under Wenger or SAF. So i'm sure he'l maximise his potential. He looks a proper player though. I hope he can reach Scholes or higher level moreso than Carrick.

Scholes is the type to impose his will on 95% of sides, that's the same thing Xavi/Pirlo do. Carrick sometimes struggles to do this in big matches so I hope Wilshere can reach that level.

"I tell anyone who asks me – Scholes is the best English player." [10]
Laurent Blanc, former teammate of Scholes and captain of France's 1998 World Cup winning squad

"Paul Scholes would have been one of my first choices for putting together a great team – that goes to show how highly I have always rated him. An all-round midfielder who possesses quality and character in abundance." [16]
Marcello Lippi,

"My toughest opponent? Scholes of Manchester. He is the complete midfielder. Scholes is undoubtedly the greatest midfielder of his generation." [15]
Zinedine Zidane

“Out of everyone at Manchester United, I would pick out Scholes – he is the best midfielder of his generation. I would have loved to have played alongside him.” [36]
Pep Guardiola

“At Arsenal me and Patrick (Vieira) didn’t want to face Scholes. We would avoid him.” [43]
Emmanuel Petit

fukk WHATEVER you are saying. The people have spoken.

If he was so great, how come he's NEVER accomplished anything that stood out at the Euros, WC or even CL? Keane and Ronaldo were more important at those CLs.
How come he's never made it to even the Top 10 for Ballon d'Or any year?
A lot of people overrate him because he plays at Man Utd (the media exposure always gives their players more acclaim than they really deserve)

I was actually against signing Pirlo, even on a free, lol.

Thought he was finished after his last campaign with Milan.

More than happy to be wrong about it though.

I bet Allegri isn't though! No pun.

:ooh: Just seen giovinco is returning this year. these co-ownerships make no sense.
If boateng can stay healty for a full season you know that scudetto's going back to milan.
:wow: at muntari's knees though.

Last year, Pirlo was dumped by AC Milan like a dirty sock for being too old.
Even Milan fans had no problem seeing him go :smoker:

Breh hes 37 years of age. Brehs 10 years younger cant keep up with Yaya
Yep.

37 brah. THIRTY-SEVEN. Jones is what, 20? Yaya bounced dude like roundball.

It took a genuine world class powerhouse of a midfielder to stop the 37 year old.

Giovinco may stay (likely) but there's a chance he'll be included as part-exchange for the much-promised "top striker." Perhaps Cavani. RVP, I used to be keen on, but his salary demands are too much and he's too close to thirty.

Co-ownerships are used as incentive for the smaller teams to actually give the players minutes on the pitch so they can develop. A type of investment. Parma made 7m profit on Giovinco (they paid a 1m loan fee, 3m to buy his half, then sold it back for 11m).

Boateng won't make the slightest difference. We've signed two of the best CMs in Serie A (Asamoah and Isla) to reinforce the already strongest midfield in the league.

:sadbron:@Muntari. No more beach footy for him. Bye-bye to half his wages too...

People just want to act like Xavi invented the role and is by far the best at it.

Xavi-Pirlo-Scholes is the Holy Trinity breh.

Honourable mention to Xabi tha Gawd.

Plus, Scholes was overlooked his entire career because being a game manager and a great passer has only just become popular to dikkride in this post-tiki taka world.

It's not a coincidence that players like Scholes, Xavi, and Pirlo are only getting props now convincing some idiots that they only got good in 2008 or some nonsense like that :heh:
