Last year, Pirlo was dumped by AC Milan like a dirty sock for being too old.
Even Milan fans had no problem seeing him go :smoker:

It had nothing to do with his age. In fact, they had something like ten players out of contract (many older, and way worse, than him) and he was the only one not offered a new contract. Allegri wanted two-way, defensive-minded CMs.

:lolbron:@keeping Ambrosini, the worst player to captain Milan in decades, while letting go of the most influential player this season.

Plus, Scholes was overlooked his entire career because being a game manager and a great passer has only just become popular to dikkride in this post-tiki taka world.

It's not a coincidence that players like Scholes, Xavi, and Pirlo are only getting props now convincing some idiots that they only got good in 2008 or some nonsense like that :heh:

Giovinco may stay (likely) but there's a chance he'll be included as part-exchange for the much-promised "top striker." Perhaps Cavani. RVP, I used to be keen on, but his salary demands are too much and he's too close to thirty.

Co-ownerships are used as incentive for the smaller teams to actually give the players minutes on the pitch so they can develop. A type of investment. Parma made 7m profit on Giovinco (they paid a 1m loan fee, 3m to buy his half, then sold it back for 11m).

Boateng won't make the slightest difference. We've signed two of the best CMs in Serie A (Asamoah and Isla) to reinforce the already strongest midfield in the league.

:sadbron:@Muntari. No more beach footy for him. Bye-bye to half his wages too...

Asamoah signed for juve? :ohlawd: i did not know this.
Might have to change my serie a team.

nah, Pirlo stunk the last 3 years at Milan. He barely played when they won the scudetto in 2011.

People just want to act like Xavi invented the role and is by far the best at it.

Xavi-Pirlo-Scholes is the Holy Trinity breh.

Honourable mention to Xabi tha Gawd.
Contemporaries: Rui Costa, Schneider, Schweinsteiger, Vieira, Davids, Seedorf... were all better than Scholes ever was.

Might have something to do with Milan being pretty damned abysmal for two of those three years (the last of which he was injured for much of).

At the end of the day if Scholes was Spanish or whatever he would have got lost in the system because he would have been one of thousands. Borja Valero status.

Nothing particularly impressive about him really. Even now. I'm supposed to marvel at 40 yard diagonals to Valencia 50x a game? Really? :upsetfavre:

He's no Lampard I'll tell you that much.

Scholes is twice the passer any spaniard not named xavi/xabi/iniesta/fabregas.
:pacspit: at silva and mata with these 10 yard passes.
Hell i dont remember the last time xavi/iniesta attempted a long range pass.

Scholes > Anyone to ever put on a chelsea kit

None of them are the same type of player mate except Seedorf.

In terms of general midfielder. Bernd Schneider is not even in the discussion. Davids already said Scholes was better. Patrick Vieira is 2 years YOUNGER than Scholes b. He was done 5 years ago.

Seedorf maybe. Rui Costa is a #10, so totally different player. If you're saying Scweinsteiger is already better at 27 than Scholes has been for 18 years then you're smoking crack my friend.
