Deloitte type gig?

Yeah, that's a massive gamble, especially with kids.

In the same boat, where I'm done with the job, grind, go transit commute, but I don't have an alternative right now

I'm such a generalist (Product/Project Manager), have been in the financial sector for damn near 15 years (no college education btw), so worked my way up to Sr Mgmt level. As much as I hate it, I have 2 young toddlers and can't jeopardize their future.

Wife is a Project Mgr as well, so both if us have that corporate demand and associated pressures:beli:

Godspeed breh; hope you find what you need:salute:
i hear you breh..thats why im seriously taking my time before i make a rash decision.

i was doing the go transit commute for 6 years, finally got tired of it and now drive to square one we have a satellite office there. way better than the downtown commute.

salute to you and your wife working hard to provide for your children i'm sure it feels like a grind.

I hope you find your path.

Overall, not too bad. I've encountered racism before but always the passive agressive variety such as stares, purse clutching, and people not sitting next to me on public transport Only been called the N word to my face once in my life and that was back in high school. Never experienced police brutality. Never been denied a job or service based on race. But I grew up in the suburbs though, someone from the inner city of Montreal would have a much different story from mine.
Don’t forget people locking their car as you pass lmao. It’s always so subtle.

bring your pops with you :blessed:

And yeah compare the way people are there to over here. Canada is filled with depressed people, yet we have free healthcare, people making 40,50,60,70,80,90,100k plus and still. I was in africa and talking to people making 200canadian a month who work 40 hours a week yet dude was able to have a house, car, family and still have money left over and he was happy :dahell:

Cmon breh this is romanticism and I lived/work in Africa for a significant amount of time. I want to do it again, and loved the change of pace - and would encourage anyone to explore it if they find something solid. But the grass is always greener on the other side. There's a reason why so many young/ambitious people in Africa want to leave. Some of the things people in Canada view as banal/granted are huge limits on how far even the most talented Africans can go. Heck even our ability to simply pick up shop and travel almost anywhere is entirely tied to the power of your passport.

Not a commentary on whether you can find a good gig/better set-up abroad. Its definitely possible, but the trade-off isnt black and white.

Nah, no one said that. Your comment referred to Africa generally, so I responded in the same vein. Across Africa, its the youngest and most educated who are most likely to want to immigrate: African migration: Who’s thinking of going where? | Afrobarometer Their reasons for wanting to leave are not related to their countries being a hell hole, but to a concrete limit on their economic mobility. Saying people are all happy with their lot across Africa is as misleading, as claiming life is perfect here.

A lot of Africans (esp Nigerians) go from living lavishly in their home country to adopt very modest lives here

Heathcare and education though :manny:
