Basement apartment

Even those Jane and finch apartments are more than 1,200

Honestly the best bet nowadays is to get like a friend and rent a house

You can rent a full 3-4bdrm house in the GTA for like 2,300

Go half with a friend

Hell if you can get 3 friends 2,300 3 ways is 766 a month

Or you can pour like 1,700 for a bdrm shack
im seriously considering quitting my job and travelling the world for 6 months to a year, and go start my own business.

Honestly finished with the corporate world. i made 215k last year that shyt brings me no happiness and im sick of the rat race this city is.

I don't blame you breh, i dont make 215k but every day i wake up i feel like just quitting. This really cant be it for life right? Working 9-5 till you're in your 50's or 60's then retire and die. Get like 2-5 weeks off a year where you can travel but return right back to the grind. What really got to me last week was my work could not even let me off early last monday, i almost died like 6 times driving home that day and I was thinking if i died here, all they owuld do would send out a little e-mail and post my position and voila. I called in sick the next day and meh.

This is the modern day egyptian slave system even down to being able to leave the surroundings but expected to be up bright and early the next day slaving. When you're old you can finally "leave" .

When I went to africa last year it really opened up my eyes. YOu only have ONE life enjoy it!!!

215k, what do you do?
What business venture would you start?

Director of Sales for a professional services company we place consultants with our clients on project and bill them a gazillion dollars, markups are great.

20% goes to me, 80% goes to the company.

I work 5 hours a day, but i've reached a plateau, and in terms of business ventures not sure yet. Was considering franchising in the fitness industry but i hate that shyt since it gives you no freedom to run your business the way you want, kicking around some ideas. I really think if i quit and travel for half a year it would open up my creativity.

The thing is there is risk, i got a 3 year old son and we're planning on having a 2nd soon. So taking this kind of massive risk requires much thought before i pull it off. i'm not solo.

That is terrible breh. It's amazing my wife was consulting with an NPO for 3 months she was on mat leave and took time off work for 2 years, and she said the place was a toxic mess, depressed staff, hopeless and just like robots going in and out everyday, some of them been there for 20+ years. Nothing but broken dreams, and regret for not living their life.

That is amazing you went to Africa. Must have been a life changing experience.

We really gotta get out while we can. The entire purpose of employers is to drain you of your hope and keep you in your place feeling helpless and without an escape route. Millenials figured it out, they put themselves first, and if they don't like the job quit days in if not weeks. The older generation is lost, byproduct of their time i guess.

Imagine being in your 40s and commuting to a desk job, just that image is sickening. Nah fukk that.

Not sure breh.

Europe is a lateral move, and there is rising xenophobia there and alot of unrest with UK and Brexit. Plus London is ridiculously expensive.

US i'm good on that. Have family there but would living there be any different than Toronto?
