I've been seriously considering this. I'm barely interested in buying real estate in Canada at this point, unless the shyt tanks.

I've sowed my seeds in Brazil, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, etc... I know expats in the philipines, thailand, and some other carib countries. It's not difficult to buy property in the above countries, but if is important you know the right people so you don't get swindled.

I suggest you travel to the place you would like to live/work in, and do your research on the country. You need to develop a certain comfort level with the culture/people/language. Also, you have to get comfortable living a different kind of life over there. Some goods/services won't exist or the level of quality might not be up to par. The reverse is also true depending on where you live

All in all, Canada ain't it anymore it is going to take too long to fix all of these problems.

The new Canadian dream is to leave Canada.

One can only dream that canadians will finally wake up from their self-induced hypnosis.

Most of us are born of immigrant families, and our people aspired to buy land and build back home. Over here, it is to buy an over-priced pos and rent it out so someone else can pay off the ridiculous mortgage.

Btw, the mortgage crisis won't be fixed until 2050+.
