My thing is this Trump what’s to bring back the automobile jobs to America yet do they have enough plants and man power for it? Also there dollar is much higher than Canada’s so cars about to be a lot more expensive for Americans. Then the retaliation of Canada returning the tariffs. Like I get he’s trying to get the gdp up but you think a lot of these American products they are building in other countries are going to sacrifice 200 percent profit and have it dip when building the same thing because now it will be more expensive in America? Yea good luck with that.
This is what those idiots don't understand, it would take years to build plants and train staff and it will be much more expensive.
Paying Joe canadian 30cdn a hour is only 20usd as of today, no american is going to work in a plant like that for 20 usd and thus having to pay higher wages will then pass the buck onto the person buying a car. Plus all teh materials used to make the car will now be more with tarrifs

I get what you are saying, but we do have recession-safe jobs, like nursing, cbsa, policing, firefighters, etc... It's more safe than working automotive sector, tech, sales, etc.. who are going to get hit immediately.

I work for large hospital and there is a hiring freeze because no money
mass deportations, gdp is going to decrease we need to get rid of people and give jobs back to canadians

He does and its our own fault really relying so much on America for everything. Yea there’s safe jobs but the economy is going to fukkin tank for Canada with these tarrifs. Sure we have a lot of resources and everything but it takes time and investment to get shyt up and running. Same for Americans it’s going to take more than one Trump term for Americans to even see the America he envisions. This is why you trade with countries because you offer things that would be cheaper and less expensive then what you provide in your own country.
