mass deportations, gdp is going to decrease we need to get rid of people and give jobs back to canadians

I see what are trying to say, but a hiring freeze isn't equivalent to getting laid off or firing though. Nurses, Police, Firefighters, etc.. aren't going to lose their job because of tariffs. We need those professions regardless of economic conditions. Hence why they have always been known as recession-safe jobs since time.

Automotive workers, sales, tech, etc.. are in trouble, and will feel the effects immediately via lay-offs, reduced hours, firings.

I agree with you on mass deportation of temporary visas, but that will only happen with a conservative government.

He does and its our own fault really relying so much on America for everything. Yea there’s safe jobs but the economy is going to fukkin tank for Canada with these tarrifs. Sure we have a lot of resources and everything but it takes time and investment to get shyt up and running. Same for Americans it’s going to take more than one Trump term for Americans to even see the America he envisions. This is why you trade with countries because you offer things that would be cheaper and less expensive then what you provide in your own country.

It really is our fault. Putting all of our eggs into one basket really screwed us over. It was a stupid move. Even more stupid was us souring our relationship with both China and India, the world's manufacturers, to appease America. Then the same America turns around and stabs us in the back with a 12 inch blade.

At this point I think anyone above the age of 25 should be looking outside the country to work and live.

Canada is toast for the next few decades.
