Fraser is the big move.

He’s gained a reputation for competence but housing is a complex issue involving all levels of Canadian govt. The roots of the crisis also began 30 years ago.

Next election is probably 2025 which isn’t enough time…

canada got the most NIMBYS

lol even if they start on that highspeed rail ish would be completed like 100 years from now. You see how long that eglinton lrt is taking? David Miller was Mayor when it first started it was expected to open 2021 and yet here we are in 2023 :heh:

The only thing that gets built fast in canada is condos

I agree a second international airport would do wonders. It's why I keep laughing when people say toronto si a world class city its not. You don't need to own a car in london or nyc if you don't live downtown toronto you do. London has like 5 airports, nyc has 2 and you can even count newark if yhou want.

100%

And every politician from every a$$hole town along the way is going to be lobbying for a spot. It will be election time and the liberal seat in Gananoque will be endanger and Justin will announce a stop there that slows the toronto - montreal trip time down by an hour.

i just saw again today metrolinx another delay for the finch lrt line now 2024

Finch West LRT likely won’t be operational until 2024 even as construction progresses

:mjlol:
In April 2012, Metrolinx proposed to start construction on the Finch West LRT in 2015, with the line opening in 2018.[12] By November 2012, when the city and province signed an LRT master agreement, construction for the line was to begin in 2015 for completion in 2020.[9] In April 2015, the province announced that construction of the line would start in 2016 for completion in 2021.[9]
