Yup I played hockey as well and I remember this was like 25 years ago and it was like 500 bucks then for house league, when I made it to select it was even more money for the uniform, practice and travel. Many times for equipment i had to go to play it again sports and I'd get hand me down equipment from some rich folks on my team. Sports now are even more expensive even soccer
And I agree the experience is great
Kids in basketball have to pay camera crews for those mixtape highlights we see. The training and the travel to go to the States, where a lot of premier events as well. I know a guy who has son with a trainer costing $2000 for development.
That eventual full ride and meal ticket ain’t cheap.
