This is the head of the Ontario Hospital Association lobbying against any easing of restrictions. When people like this have gained incredible clout in Ontario, its no wonder we are behind the rest of the country and world. Media quotes this guy every single time, as if he's an elected politician.

We reopened too fast twice already. Why do it again?

I thought there were would be more outrage for the things you can't do, but people have found ways around them. Everyone has a gym to go to.

Restaurants and bars

:yeshrug:

Throw parties at your own house by carpooling 3 cars with everyone in it.

I've seen people playing ball at public courts.

It is what it is now.

We're in it for the long haul.

no lies told breh...:francis:

Less than 10 percent of the country has had both shots.

The india variant is spreading like wild fire in the UK. Let's see what happens. We partially open up this year, it will be September probably. Just be patient.

who cares about spreads how many deaths?

Despite recent rises in coronavirus cases in the UK, Jenny Harries, chief executive of the UK’s Health Security Agency, said there hasn’t been a “sharp increase” in hospitalisations.

health officials for ontario keep talkiing about variants coming from UK and/or India and i think part of the problem is the fact that north america tends to hoard vaccine supply. The narrative was to vaccinate the world by 10% but if we allow variants from poorer countries to run rampid while they have next to no supply, we're kinda working backwards

Canadians cheer as vaccination rates climb, but global health advocates ask: At what cost? - this sums up this issue much clearer than I could

The US gave us a shytload after they figured out their reopening plan because their metrics aren't as high as ours (no clue why this is the case if cities like Toronto are incredibly small in comparison to big cities in the US)
