Even then, the Vietnamese are in town houses
behind Trethewey.

:unimpressed:

Was looking up properties in Florida

:ohlawd:

Canada ain’t for me. Only reason to stay here is for cheaper schooling. A few more years and I'm out of this prison called Canada. Can actually afford property

:sadbron:

If you bought years ago life ain't bad, or if you rented years ago not bad. Even 5 years ago you could rent a 1bdrm condo for 1,300 and that was considered pricey.

but now? Paycheck to paycheck / roommate etc.

Even single rooms go for 8-900
Good info to know when dating, just assume most people are not living on their own, owning their own spot

I dated a lot prior to covid. Most women I came across were renting with roommates or living at home. I even was casually dating this girl and she lived with 3 of her friends in a 2 bedroom basement apartment. The few that owned their condos were like nurses etc. but prob bought when they were cheap.

Don't blame them. It's an eye opener for many immigrants when they land in toronto how expensive it is. You're preached the land of milk and honey but yeah right
Yeah, they don't get jobs anywhere close to their field and have to build from scratch. The word is spreading. Many vids on youtube shytting on Canada.

I do have issue with them bringing their elderly parents over. :mjpls:

It's why I bounced and living in the Bay. Housing prices are crazy here but I make 2-3X the household income vs Toronto.

I hear Oakland is crazy now too in terms of the housing prices, Blacks pushed back, and Asians taking over..unlike what it used to be around 2005.

Yeah Berkeley has spilled over into Oakland...lots of gentrification has started. It's actually more of an increase in Whites and Latinos in Oakland. Sf barely has any black people but that's 30 years in the making.

I'd like to return to TO in the future, but hard to justify taking a big pay cut (with less job prospects) just to but homes almost as pricey as the Bay. Canada's main industry is real estate and nothing else - maybe if I get a remote US job I'll consider it.

My former coworker came from nigeria was here for like 7 months then found a job in saskatchewan and bounced.

The healthcare is really all it has going for it. My sister's father in law only comes back once every 6th month for a few weeks from ghana just for his ohip to not expire then he goes back to ghana.

I'd say toronto is worse

why?

I'm sure like a hour or 2 from the oakland/san fran you can find something affordable

In toronto even places 1-2 hours away, london, niagara falls, peterborough, trenton, barrie etc. are expensive

American gun culture turns me off. If you ain't got at least 3 guns, you're not trying to live in America.
