great writing, some really hilarious scenes. I also really liked the genuine "top 5" discussions, like the scene with tracy morgan in the apartment and they're just all sitting around bullshytting having a (seemingly) real conversation. the soundtrack was sick, that cool like dat bassline tho :wow: rosario was great and the love story really worked for me. workaholics dude :scusthov: lmao @ the dmx cameo. seinfeld getting kicked out the club for touching a dancer he saying she stole his wallet :laff: jerry making it rain :russ:

I saw this move yesterday with the lady. We both found very funny moments in the film. I however and not sure I would call this a comedy. I actually felt it was more like a Woody Allen relationship movie. With the NYC backdrop and the 'city' life focus, it was more a story about ups and downs of life, yet had that trendy artsy 'life in the city' flow.

The "Top Five" hip hop question was very sublte as it relates to the title of the movie. Had very little to do with that question other than the mention of this as like a running pop up question in the film which was played down in comaprison to the bigger theme of the movie. Very tatesfully done.

Good film. 8/10
that's what i love most about it, it's a genuine film, not just a set piece for different comedic segments like a lot of comedies are. the love interest with rosario worked really well and i dug the cinematography heavy as well as the soundtrack. JB Smoov and rosario sat at the same table I did in the comedy cellar when I went to NY. really liked this flick

I thought the movie was good, but I have to say I was expecting it to be better. Considering the buzz it has for being Rock's first real quality project, it let me down a bit. The laughs also just werent there for me, which is ok, but I think because I saw it in theaters, the lack of uproarious laughter made it a little less enjoyable than if I had watched it at home. It also doesn't help that there were only about 6 other people in the theater with me and I was the only one laughing at all.

I also thought that for how serious the movie was, the whole Hammy the Bear and Uprize stuff was too cheesy and felt out of place.

Still, it's a good movie and definitely worth checking and supporting, just a little underwhelming in the end
