Yeah, there's a difference between something that IS a parody and something that FEELS LIKE a parody.
Don't like the movie but let's be honest. There were too many jokes for you but the cancer especially was treated respectfully. I will concede the kids did have jokes while kidnapped.

And I am saying the movie didn't have just one tone. While mostly comedic it had serious moments.

The tone was pure immaturity besides Janes dialysis, maybe the beginning with Bale, and Bale saying to take care of his daughter. Everything else was a long ass joke. Asgardian kids got straight fukking kidnapped and it was all kinds of laughs

If you want to make sense say 'mostly', 'generally' or 'overall'.. But you can't say 'pure' and then say 'except for this or that'. That's not what pure means.

James Gunn is a better writer for these movies than Taika. He will write some very outlandish sh-t but for the most part the moments that are meant to be heartfelt capture the tone and feel the way you'd expect them to.. He's gotten even better since the 1st Guardians too..

If anything, Ragnarok is a spoof of Thor. I think Love and Thunder tried to balance it.

I finally finished watching it and gotdamn this was an AWFUL movie. Everything was overly comedic, the jokes didn't hit, the action was meh, and honestly didn't care about any of the characters throughout the movie. Idk why the MCU is so intent on making Thor such a dumbass. This is a movie I won't ever watch again. The Gorr storyline in the comics was awesome and this movie butchered it
