The fact that Thor and Rocket got close in Infinity War and Endgame and didn't say two words to each other in Love and Thunder :skip:

@Bryan Danielson where you at breh? :gucci:

Oh. No:ohhh:

The question has been “where YOU at breh”

I saw in TLR someone that I’m not naming kinda came for you breh. I was scared for you and thought you was on the run.

Low key a meeting has been set to possibly PERMANENTLY remove you from your duties as Co-General if you gonna be on the run.:why:

Cuz you may be in the fight for your coli life:damn:

Just saw Thor last night, it was aight..agree with most that Bale talents were wasted, he could have been way more menacing and threatening.

Although I chuckled more in this movie than Ragnorok, I still think it was too goofy for a character that has had soo much trauma.

After watching this and multiverse of trash...I really need the Russo Brothers and Jon Favreau back directing Marvel movies.

I am curious about Nia Decosta style of directing and generally like Coogler...but I'm good on Taika and Rami

Thought this was pretty good. Christian Bale was fantastic. Russell Crowe as Zeus was hilarious. Loved how they tied it together at the end with love and thunder.
Crowe is the embodiment of what a character hailed as the best of the gods would be: a massive, irredeemable douche. :mjlol:

Now I'm wondering if Feige is going along with this theme or this just happened by accident on their part. :lolbron:

nah total accident i think

they said the feige has had his focus totally on NWH at the expense of what the other films were doing....the crazy thing is

- Dr Strange as a character didnt really DO anything he was the same dude that he was when he started the movie

and my god WTF can they acttualy DO something magical other than do karate???

as for Thor - the problem is they are treating Thor and the Gods as just regular old humans...there seems to be a HUGE misunderstanding of even the mythos of the Norse Gods....

I think they feel like they are wedded to the whole - we arent divine we are just beings speech that Odin gave to Thor which kind of just seems stupid...

im gonna go real deep inthe weeds - Thor has been alive for 1500 years - he is a God - among gods in a panteon that had followers that made an entire society and rules based on what they were supposed to do for the Gods....so where is the real Vikings of 900AD Thor? - y know the raping killing pillaging vikings - sacrifices were made to Thor and Odin ie people got killed... Odin was the god of War where you had to slay those who lost in battle to him as a offering for your success. Thor caroused drank fukked and made battle on foes

even the fact that they have a Vahalla wasnt a place that Thor or any of the other Gods werent able to be because they were IN Asgard the home of the Gods - Vahalla was for MORTALS who died in battle - Vahalla wasnt some heaven whichis so wrong for hem to make it out to be in this series - Vahalla was the Hall IN ASGARD where Odin took those mortal souls who died in battle, and they had an existance to fighting in glorious battle everyday and drinking a feasting at night for the rest of time until the end of days ( Ragnarok ) - if you just regular old died you simply went to Hel ...that was it -

The fact that they seem to want to avoid the actual mythos of these beings who are Gods yet ignore the "godly" ness of what they were ...is why i think all of these Thor movies have fallen off so terribly .....

What made the Simonson run so great was that he really made the comics mirror the mythos of the Norse god mythos - even down to the beliefs about fate and cycles. It Inluced Sutur and his destruction of Asgard, Fenry, and the World serpent the hate of the Frost giants and the Dark elves.... they triad and failed miserably in the Dark World because they just didnt want to comitt - they wanted to not confuse viewers or overwhelm them i guess with concepts that ran afoul of western christian ideals...

The God Butcher stoyline is so good because its about the big ideas about Thor and a Gods purpose in the beginning and End of times....they could have really made an EPIC movie with an OldThor ( with helmsworth being the grouchy older King Thor Odinson with his arm and eyes missing ) multiversing himself to help this Avenger Thor and incuding this Lady Thor ( jane ) to combat Gorr - just because Gorr is such a badass....thats seeking to destroy ALL gods not jsut in this reality but now daring to goto all realities. Gorr hates all gods good and bad ....benevolent or not - in fact there should have been scenes shot to show him killing Gods - even the Gods of populations that were happy in their worship or that had actual responsive communication with their Gods and showed the despair or desctruction left in now in Gorrs wake now that he had dispatched them ....

this movie was so bad - and most of call just showed a lack of caring about the character Thor which it just SHOWS -

Favreau LOVED Iron man and thats why that movie can be watched repeatedly - the same cant be said of Thor - its like they just made it because it had to be made and they used a checklist to do it except for this one which seems like NO ONE at Marvel gave a shyt about it except that it had to be no more than 2hours long

let ME write a movie for Thor and i would put some shyt on the screen that would fukking rock...

I don’t think Marvel has fallen or at least I don’t think they did.

But in My opinion. This phase …. Phase 4 is an example of Marvel doing on one phase everything people like many in the coli been criticizing or saying they should’ve done for 3 phases or said back then “they was failing then cuz they didn’t do _____”

So to me Phase 4 is damning proof that the TSC vocal critics and anyone from the past that judged harshly clearly never knew what the fukk they was talking about and should’ve just STFU and let them cook.

I hope y’all learned YALL lessons and if y’all want Phase 1-3 in Phase 5 then relax and don’t say nothing ever again cuz you were wrong

Said it before and I’l say it again.

These latest MCU movies have no rewatchability at all.

I saw BP 6 times at the cinema

IW and EG 3 times each

Shang Chi is the only one of these new movies worth rewatching.
I legitimately think top gun, and to a lesser extent, dune, are fixing the theater and blockbuster narrative.

Make. Quality. shyt.

If you a blockbuster you better fukkin deliver in terms of production quality, CGI or practical effects, and I want to leave the theater satisfied.

Mcu ain't delivering that right now period. spiderman and LOKI is the only things that delivered in this season in terms of total experience and Spiderman is the only one that counts. That's a lot of bricks. And we ain't with that shyt period.

Top Gun, movie of the decade so far

Just saw it... Here's what I think right now:

I wasn't bored and there are a lot of elements I loved and was interested in, but the sum of these parts didn't really make for a great movie. I feel like not only the ensemble was disorganized, the different tones were sometimes clashing and the pacing was odd. Here are a couple of these individual elements that were great by themselves:

  • the rom-com/"love" narrative thread about Thor's place in life and his relationships
  • the god-killer/gods abandoning their worshippers narrative thread
  • New Asgard with Tessa Thompson as a president/new generation of Asgardian children (and others)
Individually, all these parts were interesting in their own merit and lowkey could have had a whole movie, or more of it, dedicated to them, especially the first two. The passages where Korg was narrating Thor's love life were lowkey the best parts of the movie and the weapon love-triangle was pretty funny. The intro with Gorr losing his daughter, abandoned by the god, was on the nose but it was gripping and made me very invested in him as a villain (and he was barely exploited after that). The entire sequence in Olympus with Zeus was fire to me (even though I wonder what's up with Marvel and those blurry CGI cities). New Asgard was pretty interesting.

But together, it produced a pretty messy result. I mean, how do you go from breh murdering gods and kidnapping children to Thor goofing around with his ex? The contrasting tones diminished the impact of the scenes. But even worse, it felt like there wasn't enough time to develop each narrative thread correctly, even if the ending tried to tie it all together and didn't do the worst job at it, the execution all along the movie was lacking. That's too bad.

I don't know if we can spoil or not, but about the ending...
I thought that Gorr would use his wish to cure Jane from her cancer seeing that he concluded that even if he ressuscitated his daughter, he wouldn't be able to be here for her. On some "let me give you what I couldn't get and be a benevolent god for you".

But I like that he chose his daughter anyway. I like that it was a bittersweet ending. Not the worst outcome (all gods killed off, Thor among them) but not the best neither.

And it tried to tie the love-story narrative with the god-killer narrative together but it did a poor job at imo, essentially because those two were poorly developed during the movie (the god-killer part especially).

The humor was missing sometimes (in part due to the messy pacing and clashing tones) but there was plenty comical moments, not hilarious, but funny enough.

I don't know what they were doing with the cancer thing and it just added to the mess imo.

Guns'n'roses score was great.
This should've been 2 movies with the first being about this. The 2nd should've been about Gorr like how Infinity war was about Thanos.
