movie is kind of a mess, Phase 4 is absolutely rudderless... but i fukkin love Taika Thor so much. don't give a shyt if he's too "dumb" and there are "too many jokes." Hemsworth and Taika are the best together. even if all the rest might not work as well, the character is great. I can't believe Christian Bale signed on for this. Feel like 30% of his and Jane's stuff was cut and it absolutely shouldn't have been. give us one less shadow monster scene and actually show him butchering a fukkin God. it was like Multiverse of Madness completely dropping the ball with the actual fukkin multiverse stuff. Show us a guy name God Butcher butchering more than 1 shytty god.

still had a great time. outside of seeing the 3 Spidermen swinging around together, this is the best thing in Phase 4. I'd watch 100 more Taika Thors and don't give half a fukk if they aren't serious enough. this movie isn't even tonally on point at all, and i still don't care.

Movie was meh...but the first half was funny. Bale couldn't even save it. Gorr was basically Omar from the Wire

I'll continue to say it, Phase 4 is MCU's worst phase. They aren't doing much to connect the broader storyline like previous Phases.
i've seen people cape and say shyt like, "why can't the movies just stand alone and not be part of a grand scheme?" b/c that's how we're fukkin programmed. that's what made the last 6 years of the MCU special. as i said above, Phase 4 is rudderless. What did this movie in particular "set up?" i can't believe anyone gives a shyt about a potential "Gods v. Superheroes" event, b/c that's likely not even gonna be an "event." I'm gonna just keep shytting on MoM, b/c if the multiverse is supposed to be the next big frontier, they absolutely fukked up. Spidey was cool. MoM fukkin blows.

kinda blows my mind that we just had to slog through Moon Knight, a show steeped in mythology with Egyptian Gods, and it didn't tie into this one bit. Pairing that with Gorr or something would have made the show 100% better. that show sucks. And Gorr the "God Butcher" could have actually butchered a few more Gods.

Moon Knight has one passing line of dialogue in like episode 4 that says something like, "legend tells of a city of the gods called omnipitance city" and it makes that show better, and makes the intro in Thor better. sounds stupid to say 1 line changes things, but it's enough connective tissue to make me care. they set me up for shyt like that, and i crave it.

Movie got better towards the last 30-40 minutes. Only thing I found funny was Strormbreaker giving Thor the :stopitslime: everytime he was looking at Mjölnir and at the start when Thor was styling on them aliens while Nebula and Drax were looking on like :unimpressed:

Movie was just whatever. I've said the same thing for every Marvel film in Phase 4.:francis:

Spider-man had the nostalgia factor, need to watch again if I feel the same as I did a few months back.

Eternals was okay and Shang Chi would've been total thumbs up if they didn't fukk up the 3rd act.

Wonder how BP 2 will play out.

Guardians are looking :flabbynsick: these days. Gamora to Nebula is a downgrade, Yondu to whatshisface is a downgrade, Bautista works out less for each movie, Mantis is corny, public perception of Chris Pratt is pretty bad these days, and we've got the worst iteration of Groot right now. I gotta start hearing some shyt about their next movie soon.

But who's at fault if you were allowed to be conditioned for that. At this point they've clearly showed no over-arching villain or plot, so people expecting more are fooling themselves. They've even said that what happened before with Thanos wouldn't happen again. It's all about expanding the roster. Hell, I hate when they overdo the events and tie-ins in comics.

My gripe isn't that there's no grand story, it's that the stories they're telling haven't been that great. Most of them weren't before, but there's was enough great to compensate. Now it just seems like they're throwing movies out there whenever they remember to.

the formula worked. they're dropping the ball right now. shyt, most of the new characters don't even seem like they're gonna blend together if they do decide to make something bigger. You give a shyt if Shang-Chi, Moon Knight and Ikarus ever meet? I completely agree that the stories have been meh,

The broader story is rudderless and the films themselves are rudderless. There's hints of great scenes in some of the films, but they've literally all fallen flat. To me, No Way Home was only good for nostalgia. It was a mess of a story. I had so much hope for Eternals and MoM, those movies should've set so much up for the next 5 years of films. Phases 1-3 did that so well while still allowing the films stand on their own.

They need to also address, what happened to the past version of gamora that got brought into the present in endgame
