Is it even worth buying some of the larger boxes, or would I bet getting fukked?

Also, opinion on this? There are eight spots for $379.99 for each spot.

I'm still buying (and selling).

I gotta know what your budget is and what you're trying to get out of this. Do you care if you make your money back or are you just in it for the thrill of the hunt? If it doesn't matter, knock yourself out. If you're hoping to get a return on what you spend and you can afford an $11K case w/o breaking a sweat, I'd highly suggest buying high end singles instead. Or if you want to spend big on wax, you could buy sealed boxes of 2000 or 2017 and hold (or bust if you REALLY want to) since those are Brady and Mahomes' rookie years.

Since football is where your passion is, there's still Brady and Mahomes rookies you can get for under that price. I know you love hockey too so Ovechkin and MacKinnon (who still has quite a bit of upside, imo) RCs are on the table too. I could point you to certain cards if you'd be interested.

I think they're overpriced but everything is right now. Say you bought that box of Prizm for $1,600 and opened it. Basically the only way you're breaking even is if you hit a Silver Prizm of Herbert, Burrow or a low numbered parallel of Brady or Mahomes. Now if you believe Herbert and/or Burrow is the truth, buying that box and holding it for the future would be smart. As long as one of those two pans out, that box price will steadily rise.

High grade singles (PSA 9 at minimum) and sealed wax is always the way to go. Opening boxes is like doing scratch off lottery tickets on a much bigger scale.

A couple years ago when Prizm was $150 or so, it was no big deal and a lot easier to break even or not get crushed. Now, it's a complete dice roll.

Correct but I wouldn't recommend Score, especially at that price. The brand just doesn't matter that much. It isn't a chase product with major hits.

The most important brands in Football are Prizm, Contenders, Optic, National Treasures, Flawless, Impeccable and Immaculate.

Especially with football, stick to high grade rookie stuff (PSA 9 or better; I always buy 10). Some inserts carry weight in football (Color Blast, Downtown, Night Moves) but generally not like they do with basketball. What players do you want to buy? Lawrence and Fields won't have any NFL licensed stuff until the fall, when Prizm and Optic come out.

So, are the redemption things your talking about those blank cards that have a players name on them that you redeem? They then send you that card out?

Yep. They can bring down the future value of boxes/cases too if the main guys are redemptions. So that's one thing to look into when thinking about buying and holding too.
