I sell some stuff here and there but most of my Kobe stuff I planned on always keeping unless something desperate came up and I was forced to sell. The way his stuff is selling today because of his death, I could get hundreds of thousands for my collection...but I cannot do it. I hope I can hold onto what I have for a long time.
his RC that i have shot up from $10 to $80..

Did you purchase the cards individually?

I dont even wanna see what the chrome or 50th cards are going for now :hhh:
Think I saw some sales at $6-8,000 for the Chrome. :snoop:

There's a Refractor over $25K right now. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets to $50K.

There has been a trimming scandal boiling over in the past couple years so even if the card is graded, do some homework on it beforehand, especially for numbered cards. WorthPoint | Antiques, Art and Collectibles - What's it Worth? | WorthPoint and Market Price Research - PWCC (will need a free account for this one) are your best resources for research.

I 100% avoid BNC. Definite trimmer and overprices his shyt anyway.

PWCC and Probstein, I simply do my homework on the cards ahead of time with them now but I apply that to everyone as best I can. The other problem with avoiding them altogether is they're two of the few that sell good stuff by auction. There's so many awful BINs and BOs on eBay that are ridiculously overpriced; people who have no intention of selling unless they can gouge you.

Wait. Whats happening? People are trimming the cards to get a better grade? Wouldn't PSA or BGS be able to tell? How would you do your homework - via that site you posted? Does it say "watch for trimmed cards"?

Theres online forums that keep track of the PSA numbers so you can view its history...But yes alot of those auctioneers buy lower graded cards, trim them and send them to PSA to have them re slabbed as 10s and turn around sell as PSA 10s which is disgusting and fraudulent...PSA is complicit with the BS since they turn a blind eye to the shyt because ppl like BNC and Probstein give them lots of business each year...

PSA could easily measure the cards but for some reason they keep re slabbing trimmed cards from PWCC and Probstein for auction smh...IF you ever visit BO Forums theres posters on there who frequently post his trimmed cards coming up for auction. Most are high end LeBron Luka KD or Giannis national treasures going for 5 figures....and worst he has friends shilling for him in these auctions driving up the prices....

Probstein and PWCC don't trim the cards themselves but they do allow people to funnel trimmed cards through their auctions. Vintage gets it the worst. Countless examples have been documented on the blowoutforums. I wouldn't touch graded vintage right now.

The big names are the most known to get trimmed but some of these guys trim EVERYTHING, even relative no names. That doesn't mean everything is trimmed or everyone who submits to grading is trimming their cards. You just have to due a little homework on cards you're looking at, especially numbered cards since there is a good chance there's a trail to the original listings. The two sites I linked allow you to search for old listings and they go way back.

There's certain brands that should raise red flags when you see PSA 10 listings. Most National Treasures, Immaculate and Exquisite cards in Gem Mint holders make me raise my eyebrows. They are notorious for chipping around the edges and soft corners.

Just recently got back into the hobby last year. Due to Luka. Collected a ton of dude. Only wish I had collected more. Hobby filled with middle aged cac collectors has made Luka RCs more in demand that anyone could have imagined.

Here's just a few of the valuable ones in my collection

I got back into card collecting about two years ago. Those Jersey patch book cards of certain players are very coveted. Those panini prestige boxes cost about $125 a pop but they have alot of hits in it. Collecting is fun but for cards on the high end, its a very expensive hobby.

Thanks breh. And agreed. Impeccable is extremely undervalued in my eyes and has some of the best looking cards in the hobby

For athletes who’s NT/Immac/Flawless are ridiculous prices, I shoot for Impeccable
Definitely undervalued, in large part because Panini has been pumping out high end releases and there's only so much money to go around. I think it'll pick up steam down the line like Optic has in the past year.
