That’s a fact. What spots you recommend for Fort Lauderdale?

At this point I’ve explored pretty much all of Miami areas!
I don't go out much to recommend places in Lauderdale but Las Olas have clubs and bars. FTL Beach be jumping on weekends and invites a mixed crowd. My girl and I would go down to Hollywood or Gulfstream Park to be entertained most times. There's plenty of Caribbean spots and parties if that tickles your fancy but finding an equal of Miami's scene... Not happening.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Im considering moving to NYC for one year to get the experience of living there. What is your opinion on living in Harlem and can you live in NY on a $90k salary as a single male?

Absolutely you can. You can live outside of Manhattan with that salary easily. Harlem is part of Manhattan of course but its uptown so people view it as outside of Manhattan lol.

You can live there or live even farther north in Washington Heights which I believe is cheaper.

You can check out Bed Stuy in Brooklyn which is the sister neighborhood to Harlem

Rents for 1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms have been declining a bit also. Still high but not going up!

Just try to group anything under 2K a month and see what you working with!

:dwillhuh::dwillhuh: how'd you know i live in Loxahatchee?:dwillhuh:
Cause I'm a 561 nikka :jawalrus:

West Palm is super condensed (as far as the South goes). The city only stretches out a few miles from the coast. So the second you say you're driving 19-15 to get to a store and a half hour to get downtown there's only one place you could be.

Man (I'm assuming your black), black middle aged new yorkers are OBSESSED with moving their families to bumfukk Florida. I see it time and time again. None of them move to a nice spot in Flamingo Park or El Cid or something. Always fall in love with the big ole houses for cheap prices out in the Lox and drop their city living family into the absolute boondocks.

All my brothers live in 561. West Palm Beach is filled with New Yorkers, Massachusetts folk and also Canadians from Ontario and Quebec.

One of my brothers complex is filled with nothing but cars with those license plates.

There’s also a designated community in Fort Lauderdale made for people who are from Montreal

My dads side of the family is all Bronx transplants. But they moved to the central suburban area instead of the backwoods and none of them have ever thought of going back.

That Lox life is something else man. Dirt roads and shyt.

I like Florida a lot but I’m a true city boy and can’t handle that lifestyle. I’m just too impatient and a true definition of a fast pace person.

I got fam in Georgia and the whole process of driving just to get a bottle of milk is suicide lol.

West Palm Beach is cozy. Whenever I’m there I feel like taking a nap 24/7 :blessed:

I respect the fact that you didn’t come to nyc like a tourist and actually explored nyc like you live here.

Much respect for you.

Lots of these people go to Manhattan and think that’s the real NY.

As for Florida I love Wynwood so much that I don’t get tired of that area but next time I go to see my brothers I’m going to start exploring Fort Lauderdale. Seems more authentic there!
Nah, like i said I was born and raised in NYC. You from new york? I grew up on President street and schenectady ( now they call it some weird ass name but its forever schenectady:pacspit:). I lived right next to eastern parkway and utica ave. Then I moved to east new york new new lots avenue. Im used to sitting on the stoop in the summer and just taking in the air. Popped fire hydrants, dudes blasting Jamaican riddims out their cars, playing basketball at the park. Those are the moments I miss. The hypness of manhattan and the glitzy lights are fun too. But just chilling outside cracking jokes was fun also. I lived next to the 3 train that can take you anywhere. I miss just hopping on the train, putting my headphones on, whipping out a good book, and chilling till I get to my stop.

Everything is more authentic outside of Wynwood.

I like Wynwood but use to love it before it got corporate thus pre-Art Basel only for them to abandon it for Miami Beach.
Ehhhhh. Im not an artsy person so wynwood did nothing for me. I thought it was cool but my brain has a really hard time processing art:mjlol:

Yea I’m tired of driving myself I like the subway but also nyc is expanding BRT. Does La have BRT buses?

Man that feels better than both the subway and regular bus!
Driving is such a chore. And maintaining a car is annoying. Especially with how spread out everything is, its a 30 minute drive just to get to the nearest beauty supply store to buy some Scurl:francis:.

I actually went to FTL beach with a friend. It was very nice. I loved the board walk. I wasnt anticipating all that so I didnt have much money on me.

Born and raised but I grew up in Midwood so I don’t have those nice memories like you. Live in a quite Jewish area but mostly hang in Flatbush, Crown Heights, East Flatbush and Canarsie.

I hang out in Harlem much more now also.

I drive a car but it’s a Toyota so I never have issues. Can’t imagine having an luxury car in nyc unless I buy me a condo with my own parking spot and yes fixing a car and being stuck in traffic is annoying and time consuming

everything spot on:wow:. My dad is from haiti. So this hot tropical climate reminds him of home. But this shyt aint for me. Now im living on a dirt road that gets pitch black at night with a bunch of chicken and fruit trees. Yes a big house for 150k attracted my dad. Its typically black parents of retiring age that want to move to florida but dont take into consideration their kids.

You live in the worst area. I don't even step foot out there.

I was gonna make some suggestions about ways to move in wpb to meet people and have fun but you said you're not into arts and that's the only scene that matters in WPB

say it aint so:mjcry:. I like activities. I love the fair, beach, Rapid water park, zoos, aquariums. I want to go kayaking and hiking. But haitians out here are punks and dont like doing nothing out the box. they scared of animals, heights, dirty things, open water, everything.

Question for y'all. I'm trying to remember the name of this night club. It was this Spanish club although I don't know if they played other music on other nights. It was located inside a hotel. Was either off marina mile boulevard or real close to it. I remember there being a bridge that had to be crossed to either get to the place or to get back on 595. Was on like the second floor of the hotel. Forgot the name of the hotel. Been like maybe ten years since I've been there so who knows if it still even exists.
