I'm currently in West Palm Beach. Snore city . I was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Crown heights and east new york. I moved to FL when I was 18 because my dad wanted to retire here. I've been unhappy every since. Last week was the first time I've been back to NY in 6 years and I got hit with so much nostalgia. There was just so much stuff to do and I ain't have to drive just got a 1 week unlimited metro card and I was good to go. There was never a day I was in the house past 9am. And I stayed out till late. And I still didn't have time to do what I wanted to do. It was so much fun.

I don't know who k Foxx is???

Is it about Florida that you just like so much?

House of Mac was okay. Not sure why I was expecting more :francis:

I was actually kind of disappointed with the food I had in Miami

Interesting, I thought it was dope when I went last year. One of the better commercial mac n cheese I've had. South FL seems like you really gotta search with food in South Florida.

Went to Lauderdale this past week, was cool:ehh: was surprised at how crowed it was there. Should've as the lauderdale coli brehs for tips on stuff to do though.

I've been slightly reluctant about moving to Miami given the general fukkery/:mjpls: I've heard about Florida, but I'm hoping South Florida is a little more immune to that.

I don't think so, most entertainment I had was watching local news reports.:russ:

I'm sorry, I was asking what is it about Florida that you dislike so much?
Lol alot of stuff.

1) the heat. I'm a fall-winter kind of person. The heat here is so stifling and uncomfortable. The humidity feels sticky and gross.
2) having drive everywhere. I've never been a fan of driving. Especially since my parents chose to live out in the woods it always takes me at least 10-15 minutes to get out to a store. Then to get to any decent civilization takes 20-25 mins. It's annoying and discouraging as hell. When I think about all the trouble and time it would take to go somewhere I get discouraged and would rather stay home.
3) too many old folks who want everything dry and boring. In NYC, activity going on around them made old people feel involved whereas here activity going on around old people makes them feel scared and threatened.
4) everyone's personality is odd. I feel that Florida's are very friendly on the surface but are guarded when you try to get to know them deeper. It's odd because in NY we are known to be rude or curt but we are alot more open and you get to truly connect and get to know someone. Floridians seem super friendly and helpful but you don't get more than 1 inch deep with them. We've been here for 6 years but no one in my family has made any friends.
5) not enough activities to do. You gotta search real hard to find something going on in Florida whereas you can run into something random just walking down the street in Manhattan. Also nyc government itself plans alot of activities and partners with schools and programs. And they advertise it well on the radio, newspaper, TV,etc. So if you want you can pop in to check something out. It felt everything was for everyone in New York. Whereas here its like shyt be going on and you never hear about it. Like it only makes rounds amongst certain crowds.
6) no useful public transportation
7) no sense of roots. I don't feel anyone here feels particularly connected to their area. In NYC ask people where they from and you get a speech. I can tell you all about my experience in crown heights and east new york, and my school's, college area. Everything had a feeling to it. Here its just whatever. There's no sense of pride or sentiment towards any area. Even if you own a house people don't feel like they really really OWN it. They just know they live there. Idk how to explain it.

And I don't think my family planned well when they moved here. My pops thought it would more than what it really is. I personally think he would have done better in NYC. Idk if he recognizes that or not.

If you’re not in Broward (honestly anything before exit 31) or Dade, you lost :mjlol:
Which is exit 31 on 95? :lupe:

Anyone else having beef with sunpass? Seems like their system was down and now they charging for old tolls. Bad some transactions posted from earlier this month. I'm on auto reload and have paid like forty bucks these past two weeks. These new express lanes and my complete inability to leave for work on time got me like :deadrose:.
