What’s Norway got that the rest of the world doesn’t? For one thing, a stunning per capita GDP of $57,000 a year. Norwegians have the second-highest level of satisfaction with their standards of living: 95% say they are satisfied with the freedom to choose the direction of their lives; an unparalleled 74% say other people can be trusted. It sure doesn’t hurt that the massive Norwegian welfare state is bankrolled by high taxes and big reserves of offshore oil and gas.

Someone help those poor people. We should go there and liberate them and their oil.

They are literally starving.

#dap dis if u want 2 save norway people. ignore to not help dem

Side by side comparisons of nations are misleading... but its worth asking,

How are minorities doing in these countries? :mjpls:

You bring up an important point. The best comparisons are with Canada and Sweden, which both have more diversity and immigration than the other "most Socialist" countries.

It's well-known at this point that Hitler was not a Socialist. The point of calling the party "National Socialist" and spouting such rhetoric was to lure people away from actual Socialism by pretending the Nazis were Socialists, too. He specifically and explicitly says this in Mein Kampf. When Hitler came to power, he banned and purged all Communist and Socialist organizations in the country, because they were some of the strongest opposition to his agenda. The evidence is all there- just look at what he actually did. He didn't nationalize the banks or any industries. In fact, the way he garnered support from the German aristocracy (the elite families, that is) was by promising them that they'd retain control over the economy under his government, which turned out to be true. He abolished all labor unions, too.

Fascism historically is a mixture of state control over the economy and capitalism with certain strands of political conservatism. OG fascists like Mussolini praised "heroic capitalism" and made sure the profit motive was still the driving force behind the economy. Same goes for Hitler.

Fascism /= socialism, just like fascism/= capitalism.

"When everyone is to cultivate himself into man, condemning a man to machine-like labour amounts to the same thing as slavery . . . Every labour is to have the intent that the man be satisfied. Therefore he must become a master in it too, be able to perform it as a totality. He who in a pin-factory only puts on heads, only draws the wire, works, as it were mechanically, like a machine; he remains half-trained, does not become a master: his labour cannot satisfy him, it can only fatigue him. His labour is nothing by itself, has no object in itself, is nothing complete in itself; he labours only into another's hands, and is used (exploited) by this other".- Stirner

The hope to engage in a meaningful dialogue with a socialist is complete folly as it's a complete waste of time and effort. Many socialists, although ripened with good intentions, are grossly misguided and uninformed.
