what makes a country stalinist? collectivized agriculture? surveilence state? secret police? oligarchy? dominant public sector? nationalized industry?Give me one country where marxism has worked and has't turned into stalinism.
the application of marxism is very new and in very few cases has it been allowed to develop independent of geopolitical struggles. since marxism is not an ideology but instead a method of interpreting history, and by extension society, there is no one "marxism." the same way that you dont see the developing world being allowed to develop in the same way that europe and america were allowed to, the ideas of marxism have not been allowed to develop in the same way that capitalism was allowed to. the transition from king to president (feudalism to capitalism) is quite different from the transition of king to equal citizen (capitalism to socialism)
