I can see why DC decide to put Superman on the back burner after mustachegate. Shazam Is simply a better character for cinema with just as amazing powers.

Superman seems better used like the Hulk as a featured character unless they radically changed his personality. Too dry, melodramatic, and bland personality to carry a film.

Just got back from seeing it. Really good, fun movie. A little predictable (especially the third act) but still a good movie. I give it a 7/10.

Positives: Zachary Levi was great. And I ended up liking the IT kid as Freddy way more than I thought he would. Darla was adorable. Action was pretty good and the fights were done well.

Complaints: There was a really noticeable disconnect between Zachary Levi and the kid. Adult Billy seemed sympathetic even when he was showing off, but Kid Billy just seemed like an a$$hole. Like how hard would it have been to just show up at lunch for his friend for one second? Doctor Sivana was a terrible villain. Origin was basically 'my dad was mean to me when I was a kid' CGI was really, really bad. Like worse than Black Panther. The padded suits didn't bother me up until Billy's brothers got their powers. It was really, really apparent none of the actors were muscular dudes. Never really felt like those kids were really in danger either, especially after they got their powers. But my number one complaint - those fukking bullies, man The leather jackets, the pulling up over the curb at the front of school every day was just ridiculous. Breh legit hit a disabled kid with his car then beat him up more?

But all in all it was still a really good movie. WB got another potential hit on their hands here.

Just got back from seeing it and it was alright a solid origin story. It's more for the younger crowd, so I hope it does good numbers with families. Between this and Aquaman I like Aquaman more. DC/WB keep it up though by focusing on good stand alone movies first before trying to unite everything.

Started off slow but was really good, what happened in the third act was really a nice surprise for me because I slept thru the first fifteen minutes but I did catch that caterpillar, I'll give it four out of five

More later, this was more efficient of achvieing deadpool style of humor even more so than deadpool 2
