Movie was fun. Definitely one of DC's better movies.

Just realized Rock appeared in The Mummy as the villain then showed up in the prequel as the protagonist and now the same thing bout to happen here

Too much studio interference on the other movies, they must have pegged aquaman and shazam as lame and let them cook

Exactly, Now that both are hits let's see if the studios decide to be hands off or turn them into Suicide Squad or Justice League.

Did I watch the same movie as y’all? This was . This was like power rangers movie from the 90s. If you go in with that expectation then fine I can see how it’s enjoyable. But in no way shape or form does this film beat out man of steel or aqua man (which I had low expectations for and it turned out decent).

I think that’s probably exactly what happened.

Plus I feel like Wan is at the point of his career where they could trust him (having done a billion before) and he can demand a certain amount of control.

I'll guve my review later but quick bottom line this is like the DC equilancy of Spiderman "Homecoming" (if you liked Homecoming). Utter shock this movie was this good with the corny cac humor trailers. Movie of the year easily so far.

“Shazam” Opens To Strong Preview Numbers

Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC Comics adaptation “Shazam!” earned $5.9 million from Thursday night previews in North America, topping “Pet Sematary” which made $2.3 million in its previews last night.


“Shazam!” is expected to score a $45-50 million domestic haul this weekend and is coming off strong reviews praising it for its light fun tone, family friendliness and lack of self-importance like much of its comic brethren. The film’s family-friendly tone is expected to make good use of the vacuum left by the absence of interest in “Dumbo”.

As an added bonus, “Shazam” cost $80 million to make – only half of what it required to make “Aquaman” and “Wonder Woman” so doesn’t need to make as much. The film already made $3.3 million at advanced screenings two weeks ago.

In addition, the film made $16.4 million on its first day in China, along with a further $15.7 million from other global markets in its first two days with the overall overseas opening weekend haul expected to be around $100-120 million.
