I thought it was interesting that Kovalev said he wanted to give the crowd a full fight instead of ending it early in the post fight interview with Max, but immediately following the knockdown of Ward, he tried applying pressure like he wanted to end it, albeit with little success.
In the moment, it seemed like a WRAP for Ward, but having rewatched it a few times now, Ward's defense was clutch at the most crucial moment. Kovalev failed to connect with any meaningful punches not only in the remainder of the second round, but the rest of the fight[!!]
The way that Kovalev's punches be penetrating through his oppositions guard and still dazing his opponents is ridiculous tho.

Honestly, this is a problem with most boxers. The want to be stars and make big money, but don't make the type of moves outside the ring to generate interest. A lot of these nyggas think fighting is just enough.
