also....guys like Paulie, Teddy, etc...they know "boxing". I dont care how much Lampley and Lederman are around the sport, they just dont know it as well, not the intricacies. Case in point. Lampley said on TFG that GGG is his #1 P4P, regardless of who won last night. he said Ward was fighting non-descript guys and basically only gave Kovalev credit for beating Hopkins. He never said why he had GGG at #1. So that should tell you his agenda right there.

Watching it again, especially the first 4 rounds, cats on here was acting like Ward was dominated

I didn't see that at all and didn't even give Kovalev the first round.

I think I gave 3 or 4 to Kovalev... First 4/5 rounds were difficult to score, but afterthat it was straight Ward most of the fight to me

It wasn't necessarily wrong, I understood it but I trust Paulies card and boxing analysts over almost anybody's

ward had some monster body shots coming out of the clinch, thats where i feel he really dominated
kovalev was agressive but missing a ton of punches and hitting shoulder/upper back....ward moves and anticipates well
ward knew kovalev had a strong straight right (ev by 2nd rd punch where kovalex was just a bit quicker and more accurate with right) and picked his spots to throw his right to the head, which made him appear less agressive ....the lefts to the midsection early on and counter lefts to the head wore down kovalev
after 1st two rounds, ward was fighting the fight he wanted, having kovalev lunging for shots with little power on them, and having difficultly finding range on his punches, all the while ward was getting more and more comfortable

Kovalev LOOKED like he was winning because we knew he could hurt Ward and was walking forward but I thought Ward was clearly doing the better work. Scores were close and I thought they got it right

LOL at derailing this thread with GGG ko'ing Ward...the king of dbl standards....his best opponent over 10 years was a WW. If he ain't fighting Jacobs or at least Andy Lee next he better fight a contender at 168 like Groves...

Props to Ward and Kovalev. When I watched a second time it's actually surprising how little Kovalev did after the 3rd round...the beginning of the fight kind of biased people's thoughts on the remainder fight....now that being said Ward had to dig deep to get back into the hole he dug himself into ( or what Kovalev put him in)....praise to both men.

I'm not trying to pick on you b...

It's just that every time I see a post where cats gave the 3rd round to Kovalev im perplexed...Same dudes that gave round 1 to Kovalev because of the jab that rocked Ward but for some reason Ward doesn't get a round where he CLEARLY landed the most effective punch of the round...Never mind the fact Kovalev didn't land much of anything in the round and Ward leading in with the jab snapped his head back multiple times...

I really want to understand how that scoring logic works...

Lots of people including the judges gave rounds 1-4 to Kovalev. On another board I asked how did you give Kov the 1st, they said he outlanded () Ward 7-5, and 'hurt' him with that jab. In my head I'm thinking a lot of cats don't know how to score a fight.

Scust at all the racist shyt im seeing online man. In contrast everyone here giving Kov his props despite of how you scored it. I ain't no coli militant n shyt but it really sucks to see how much motherfukkers hate us just off our melanin.

If anything we have more reason to shyt on kkkov for his past comments but nikkas still giving him his respect.

Ward's body work won him that fight, he was able to sneak in some nice shots upstairs too but his body punching was his main weapon imo. Obviously the judges saw and loved it as much.

He was ripping Kov on the inside and they both were holding, clinching and wrestling so that was all in the game

I gave SOG 7 rounds and Kovalev 5 If Ward doesn't get knocked down, the scores are even wider

Kov controlled the first half but Dre was able to steal 2 of the first 6 rounds coming back to win round 3 really was big. I gave SOG 5 of the last 6 to win it. It was close as fukk though, im glad they gonna run it back

I will say Dre can move his head a little bit more until he's warmed up. Kov hit those big jabs b/c dre was trying to get inside without slipping really early. I was surprised at kLansmans handspeed though. He beat Ward to the punch a few times.
