brehs I learned that power is usually nullified in big fights, but kovalevs can't ever be discounted. He really had ward looking like a nobody in those first few rounds.

I'm black, a boxing enthusiast, and I had it 7 to 5 for Kovalev. This was a robbery. Is it really hard to see why tho? Russian fighting an American gold medalist in America with 3 American judges. Kovalev landed 126 of 474 (27%) of his total punches, including 48 of 242 (20%) of his jabs, and 78 of 232 (34%) of his power punches. Ward landed 116 of 337 (34%) of his total punches, 55 of 168 (33%) on jabs, and 61 of 169 (36%) of his power shots.

If you or your close friends thought Kovalev won that fight then ya'll probably thought Pacquiao beat Mayweather too.... Ward made him look foolish from the knockdown to the end of the fight.

nah i thought kovalev won the fight 114-113..the only way this would be foolish is if you had kovalev or ward winning this shyt wide...it was a truly either or type of fight

he was out boxing him, beating him to the body, and slipping a lot of his punches.

kov looked frustrated as the fight went on.

he didnt look frustrated or broken at all to me. to me he looked gassed and weakened physically from the body shots and the wrestling. but hey, we see it with different eyes. we both agree Ward looked better than Kov the 2nd half of the fight. Kov was giving it his all but he wasnt the same fighter as early in the fight. the judges saw this too.

If the difference between your card and the result of the fight is two rounds it is not a robbery...

That's what we call a close fight that could of gone either way...

You can't tell me with a straight face all 7 of those rounds you gave to KKK weren't close...

if the rematch doesnt happen, this is the fight that needs to happen next...as much as most ppl dont like to admit it..superman is still the man at 175

People think Ward or Kov are easy favorites over Stevenson.

Stevenson is a different animal than both of them. So we wont know until they get in the ring.

Kovalev is solid straight forward boxer with good defense and explosive power
Ward is awkward and unorthodox cagey fighter with great physical strength and defense
Stevenson is freak athlete who offensively may be better than both but not as good as either defensively.

All of them are great counterpunchers. Stevenson presents difficulties for both of them that they may not have had with each other.

Even fights to me. I personally would favor Stevenson over both, slightly. That's saying a lot because they truly are two of the top 4 or 5 fighters in the world. the one problem is Stevenson is getting old.

Yeah i had it 114-113 for Ward. Kovalev has a pretty good jab better than i thought it was before tonight and was the only thing Ward couldn't figure out fully but at some point you have to do more than just land stiff jabs if you are the champ you have to go for it. can't just rely on one thing alone no matter how good it is. However the fighter that does finally figure out how to take away Kovalev's jab will stop him for sure. I can tell John David Jackson was told to not speak anymore by some of Kovalev's people during the fight which explains the silence
