ward won in a hard fought close fight. the fight was great...ill give it a B+ grade overall when it comes to excitment and boxing skill.
i gave kkkovaL rds 1,2,4,6.
i gave ward rds 3,5,7,8,9,11,12
Now there were two odd rounds.
round 2 was scored 10-8 for kkkovaL after a perfect timed overhand right counter. this punch was more about timing than power......as kos are always but ward took it well imo.
round 10 i felt was a back n forth offensive onslaught between the two boxers. it was just to close to give either man the rd while trying to be fair and objective when scoring. I scored it draw/10-10.
i also felt that a stricter ref would have definitely took a point from kkkovaL for the excessive holding when ward got inside, most russians boxers cant fight inside at all. plus im surprised at how leaky ward's defense is but maybe its the inactivity in the ring or kkkoaL is just that accurate and quick. probably a combo of both.
this is a fight that deserves a rematch asap and im glad the reports are coming out that they already have it in motion basically.
so final score is 115-113 for ward.

Rd5 to 12 I only gave kovalev 2 Rds, and only one I felt was a tossup
Sergay definitely looked worn and tired in the last 3 rounds.
Some thought Draw or that Kov won the fight. For the past 3 years, we all know US Russ have been at real odds. Sour, poor relations geopolitically. Some fighters from Rus have came over and took L's in some of their big fights since these two countries have been at odds which leads some to believe that no fighter from Rus will in the states and vice versa.
Now Ward a stand up guy and and I know with this much controversy he will honor the re-match and may mop the floor with him or he may lose. Pay attention to different websites, boxing sites, youtube etc and watch for the comments and read how the people respond.
I personally want every US fighter to dominate globally and if they take a L, let's call a spade to spade to preserve the integrity of the sport. I don't want foreign fighters coming here crying that they lost or was judged unfairly due to political bull shyt in politics. We know a lot of already wealthy individuals make a lot of money off boxing and we know that boxing is a huge sport for both countries.

I think during round 8 or 9 Ward went to clinch Kovalev and Kovalev fell over into the ropes that was the moment. I felt Ward could really make a comeback if he continues to pressure him with body shots jabs and counters and that's what happened. Kovalev was really gassed at that point.
Knockdown should of won it if he kept dominating but if someone turns the fight around? The Knockdown is nullified. This has happened a million times beforeHow's he better than Ward when Ward moved up to fight him and he out-boxed him?
It was a close fight and it could've gone either way. But the knock down should have won it for Kovalev.
But the fight was in Vegas with American judges, not Siberia, so Ward won a close fight based on home advantage.
Can't complain.
