I bought a home for my mom and brother. My mom got a jail bird BF. He was locked up when I purchased the home. I told my mom he cannot live there. I specifically told her “I will kick u out the house if u move him in”. She obviously agreed lol. It’s a free house where she only had to pay utilities and kick in a few bucks for insurance and taxes.

Homey had like a 3 year min sentence. Mind u I’m busy so I don’t go to my mom house a lot. Long story short. I was checking on my cuz bid on my state offender website. I said to myself “let me see when dude (mom bf) get out”. Low and behold he was released a month earlier to my house. I was pissed. I called my bro (he a lil slow) and asked him “is duke there”? My bro tried to lie. So i threatened him. He fessed up and said “yeah”.

I stopped everything i was doing. Got a $30 cab ride. Went over there and threw them out the same day. No BS. Mom called the police and everything . The police asked whose house it was. I said mine (good thing I didn’t put it in her name) Police kept it pushing after I said that . I was just about to reup my lease the next month. But I had to pivot. So I moved in my house and left my apt :mjlol:

Damn breh, that sucks that moms blew that. A free crib that her seed got her and just couldn't follow through. She can't be mad at no one but herself. Also, turnaround time on all of this reads like it was less than a month. That's wild fam.

How are you liking the Siennas? I need to look at changing out my sofa+chair in my theater at a future date so I can comfortably recline. Is that bonded leather, full grain, or PU? Comfortable?

Bonded leather, comfy though. They are dope, I've not heard a complaint about them. When I get my next crib, that's where I'm going to look for something with a dedicated theater room. This is 7-10 years down the road I'm thinking. I've been here for nearly 8 years so that will be enough time.

I'm about to upgrade my receiver. I have 2 from about 8 years ago (Onkyo 7.1 and Yamaha 5.1 setups)

Costco has this one available for $329
Yamaha RX-V6A 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver with MusicCast

I read about the HDMI 2.1 issues and some of the features are pending an update, but for the price and the future proofing angle I think I can bite for the cheaper price. I don't plan on gaming too much in the room where this will be set up at anyway, so the 4K/120hz isn't a deal breaker for me.
I still haven't hooked this up yet...
:mjlol:
I copped the JAMO HT speaker set too

I grabbed that Costco TSR-700 for my setup. It’s a solid unit for the money. I don’t game, so ain’t care about the 2.1 issue for now . There have been reports of some issues with this unit, but other than a weird menu black box issue, it’s been great. I also have an older RXA-1030 Aventage powering the living room setup and this budget unit kills it. More “noticeable” power and way more sound adjustments. It’s a great unit for the money.

Got my SVS SB-1000 home and setup, not bad, for a small sealed 250w 12" sub it surprised me. Wasn't completely happy with it tho, my Velodyne 12" with the 15" passive radiator spoiled me. Found a Black Friday deal on an SVS SB-2000 for the same price as the 1000, 500w and can play down to 19hz. Ordered it up, hope to see it next week, pics when it arrives.

You doing movies or music? I’m assuming space is a problem as the reason you’re going with the SBs? I need to get my subwoofer upgraded and missed that awesome PB2000 Black Friday sale ( didn’t have the funds anyway)..

Doing both, got almost 600 blu-rays and I do some streaming. I have over 600 cd's, I ripped all those to FLAC to my NAS device and play them through a Denon network media player (post #526 further up this page). Space not an issue actually, my Velodyne was twice the size of the SB1000 but it stopped working, I needed a new sub to replace it so I looked at SVS, they always had good reviews. I figured a 12" 250w sub should be just fine, didn't have the presence of the Velodyne especially down low. I wanted a sealed enclosure for accuracy. I went on SVS site and put in my towers to see what they suggested to match up, it was either the PB16-Ultra or SB16-Utlra, maybe next year on one of those.

A lot of peeps been mentioning that PB2000, heard great things about it, plus its ability to play low and loud.

Don't let me get ahold of 10K to blow, ordering one of these when I do:

Pc room/office is almost done, just added the 55" Samsung Q90T tv to sit above the 49" Dell Ultrawide. Full motion mounts on both screens. Onkyo Atmos AVR running 4.1 speaker setup with Energy L/C/R and Velodyne 10/12 sub. Drobo 5C for backup.

Man, very nice setup with quality components! For the size of that room, that SB2000 will sound fantastic. I tell ya, this sound/video thing is seemingly never ending...always something to upgrade. I really got to get my speaker game upped beyond my old Klipschs.
....and that $10k sub better have a built-in pizza maker and a pop-up stripper and pole or somthn for that price....

Thanks fam. Although I should clarify, the SB2000 is going in the living room. That pc room you quoted already has a sub in it, I have 2 Velodyne VA10/12 subs, 1 for the main bedroom, 1 for the pc room. The big Velodyne 12/15 was in the living room. I'll up some pics of all the rooms next week. Oh yea, once you think you are done, something else comes along. I worked at a home theater/car audio store for a few years, it was constant purchases and upgrades.

Lmao, I read some reviews of that $10K sub, cabinet is retarded rigid, they had it going with a Martini glass on top of it, barely any ripples. It weighs in at 245lbs.

This small SVS SB-2000 cube is :whew:! I say small because it is tiny compared to my old Velodyne. Watched Inception yesterday, just impressive. I came home today and ordered a 2nd one, still on Black Friday pricing of $499. AVR has 4 sub outs but 2 should do it and make things look nice and symmetrical. Gonna clean up rooms and post pics soon.

Dammit, man!! THATS how you lay out a system! That’s some fukin nice equipment in your crib, man! I can imagine those 2 SVSs sound spectacular! How long did it take to amass everything? Give me the lowdown on those Energy towers, too....I need to get something to pair with this turntable and amp that will give some better sound than my ancient Klipsch. Need something with some true full range including bass. Considering the SVS Prime Pinnacles. I’d rep you 3 times over if I could...

Thanks fam, been into this stuff heavy since I was 21, 23yrs later I'm still at it lol. Them SVSs really do sound phenomenal, I literally am hearing and feeling bass that I have not heard before sitting on the couch. Watching Hunter Killer, got me looking around the room like :ooh:. My wiremold channel raceways along the ceiling are vibrating, and they are snugly screwed in. I got serious back 2016 when I bought the Onkyo 3030, never had a top of line AVR before, started building from there. I wanted sound quality in every room. The Denon's were the best rated network media players, with all my music converted to FLAC and on the NAS boxes, they were a natural addition since selling my cd/dvd players.

Been rocking with Energy since '98, the C2's in the pc room are from that year, bought them brand new, still sound as good as when I 1st hooked them up back then. The 6.3 Veritas towers were at the time Energy's top shelf speakers, $3K for the pair, soundstage is just :ohlawd:, vocals float and instruments come alive and I don't even have them bi-amped. I got a killer deal on them for $550 for both from an original owner. He had Def Tech towers and 2 Samsung 80+" 4K tv's, he just wanted the Veritas in good hands. Slight cosmetic damage from shipping, was always a problem with these ones. If you can find ANYTHING in the Veritas lineup in great shape with original drivers, GET THEM!!! These towers will play down to 30-40hz and produce good bass. I set the xover on AVR at 70 to give them a break for the lower frequencies. I'm not up on SVS other speakers, very new to their brand. If they perform anything like their subs, they should be fantastic.
