For those who preordered on amazon

They aren't even on the shelf yet at Amazon. They're sitting on pallets in unassuming packaging labeled to not be touched until a certain date.. And he's right about you not receiving an update until a worker scans it off the shelf and sends it to the packing department.

That's how it was when I worked there.
