Question about adding users on PS5

How do I add an existing user to the family account?

These kids already have accounts and I am trying to add them to mine (adult) so I can set up gaming time limits etc but all the instructions are for adding new users who do not have an existing email account linked to the PS5 already (they do!) and having them create new acounts mean they will lose all their progress, prizes, skins etc and will be starting from scratch.
