The PlayStation 2 (Japanese: プレイステーション2 Hepburn: Pureisutēshon Tsū?, officially abbreviated as PS2) is a video game console manufactured by Sony Computer Entertainment as part of the PlayStation series. It was first released on March 4, 2000, in Japan, October 26, 2000 in North America, and November 24, 2000 in Europe. As part of the sixth-generation of console gaming, its primary competitors were the Dreamcast, Xbox, and GameCube.

Party Chat makes playing competitive games on Live a ghost town now if your boys aren't online. Takes away from the community honestly.

Live was much more interactive before Party Chat.

Now you have nikkas in a party chat with only 1 other person and their team can't talk to them because they stay in the chat. shyt is lame and takes away from a lot of games/matches

OK? You have the option not to use it?

Its funny...first y'all say fukk chatting period and you don't even turn your mic on when you play online....now u complaining that's its a ghost town when your buddies aren't online. Y'all nitpick EVERYTHING lol.

What do you guy want..talking or no talking? If there was no party chat you'd complain about random screaming nonsense...I don't get you dudes lol

If I'm sorry if this may have been repeatedly asked but are they allowing PS3 games to play on the PS4?

Sony was never clear on the whole "easy sharing used game" announcement

Nah no backwards compatibility on PSone, PS2, or PS3 games from the jump.

But that will change when the Gaikai service launches next year.

Word eh? What's Gaikai though?

Sadly I'm thinking of even copping the PS4 (yes I got sucked into the hype). But before I part ways with my PS3 I need to know what I'm getting myself into.

Gaikai is a streaming service (like OnLive on the PC) in which you will stream games over the internet to your PS4. I am assuming the PS4 will probably emulate PSone and PS2 games to play on your PS4 natively. Then the PS3 will have to be handled through Gaikai due to the PS3's crazy architecture.

More details need to come out tho.

Aaron Lee, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 11 June 2013]

The upstream supply chain reportedly has already started shipping orders for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) in June, and volumes may reach one million units per month by September for the year-end holidays. Meanwhile, volume shipments for Microsoft's Xbox One are expected to start in the third quarter, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.

The PS4 reportedly is manufactured by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and the Xbox One by Pegatron Technology, while their components are supplied by Lite-On IT, Lite-On Technology, Foxlink, Asia Optical, Kinko Optical, Newmax, Foxconn Technology, Coxon, Nishoku, Elite Advanced Laser, Tong Hsing Electronic Industries, Adda, Delta Electronics, Chicony Electronics and Neng Tyi, the sources said. However, Sony and Foxconn declined to comment about the rumors.
