is photography your full time gig?

your work and photos ive seen in this thread are amazing breh :salute:

and just reading your post its amazing what stood out to me is the why would you spend 1,500 on a camera. That was me I didn't understand why would anyone spend 1,000 pls on a camera or more on a lens.

Not full time, just part time for now.

:salute: Thanks breh for the feedback, very much appreciated. Yea, before I got into it, I couldn't understand why anyone would spend that much on a camera, I didn't know jack about lens quality back then. My friend showed me some samples and pointed me in the right direction for research, the rest was history.

We was talking to him not too long ago about how at that moment the $1,500 sticker shock was for me, now 14 years later I'm looking at a lens anywhere from $600 to $1,800 like "that's not too bad, I can do that".

brehs im a newb in terms of lighting and stuff.

Thinking of getting triggers and i have two flashes, so thinking of buying stands shoeboxes and setting up that way

is that the best way? :lupe:

I think that would be the easiest way since you already have the flashes. Just get some stands and softboxes for them. If you bought a strobe kit (for ex. Alien Bee), you would be doing the same. I started with 1 light, then added a 2nd.

I came across a YouTube playlist on understanding cameras and manual mode that I wanted to share:
Camera Controls - YouTube

After watching the playlist, I really like the way that he teaches and how he makes the concepts easy to understand so I am thinking about buying the course outright for about $90. If anyone else is interested and wants to take the course at the same time, lemme know and I'll start a group chat where we can chop it up.

Ya with a Nikon D800 (not mine)

GFX is dope but I still haven't seen any images that Blow me away. I really want something that will compare to the hasselblad 500cm.

My fav photographer uses one

ya hes dope but there are just little things that make images stand out even more. He has wrote articles about the character of certain lenses.

I wish i had some time to sit around and play with the gfx tho.

you're right about the lens stuff. i kinda front on leica bodies, but those lenses.. :wow: and zeiss lenses got me on my manual focus shyt. the way they render and little shyt like micro-contrast. i have an old minolta 40mm lens and the images just look "different" when using that lens
