I've been busy as fukk with life in general, I'm still shooting, but with the more stuff I'm adding to my plate on the side and the stuff going on at the regular 9-5 I've been swamped.

Really have to carve out time to just process my shyt. Had my 5 year anniversary last month and here's some stuff from my LA vacation that I've been sitting on.

Brehs how did you all decide on your camera's like canon or Nikon, mirrorless, full frame or crop.

I started out with a micro four third back in like 2011 a Panasonic gf2 and I loved it still have it to this day and I still use it when I don't want to lug around a big camera.

Then was using a Nikon crop just a basic model d320 and I liked it , I loved having a viewfinder.

Got a canon t5i for a Christmas and became a canonite, bought an external flash a couple of lenses and my photography skills increased dramatically.

And now finally bought my first full frame a 6d,

Went from a guy laughing at ppl spending money on photograohy to being that person

I started out with a gf2 as well...wish I still had it just as a little video camera, but I really wanted a dslr and eventually bought a Pentax K-x from a pawn shop for like $230, and so I ended buying lenses for Pentax and just stayed there. A few years later I bought a Pentax K5-iis because it had all the features I needed. If I ever get my money right i'll probably make the jump to Sony full frame mirrorless at some point, but man their (good) lenses and everything else are costly.

gf2 the gawd, once you hack it for video its amazing. Only reason I still keep it,

my 6d and t5i cant put out that quality

and yeah sony lenses are :mindblown:

One great thing as i mentioned about photography though is stuff keeps its value, i sold my 45-200mm lens i paid 250 for like 5 years ago for my gf2 this year for over 400 dollars because panasonic stopped making em :blessed:

Yep. I'm pretty sure it had some of the same internals as the gh series cameras, just didn't have the viewfinder and a few other features. I hacked mine too. I just didn't want to pay for that external viewfinder.

yep, those mirrorless cameras nowadays are :wow:
the gh5 has 4k60p, wifi, bluetooth, twin sd slots, 20mp sensors

canon only has one dslr that shoots 4k and its like 5,000 the mark iv

i went with a nikon crop body first cuz all i saw were CAC's with canons ::russ: and mad nat geo photographers used nikon so i said fukk it.

Jumped to nikon full frame cuz i shoot a lot in the dark and need good hish ISO performance.

as i have said before in this thread, i'm going mirroless next, waiting for nikon to drop there jawn to see if its decent, if not prolly fukk wit fuji since i also have an x100 and i dig the ergonomics and image quality. and i just dont like being like all these instagram nikkas running around wit a7 whatever the fukk :russ: plus fukk the price of those lens.

Just copped a Canon T7i so I can have a good beginner camera that can allow me some room to grow once I get the hang of photography.

From yโ€™all experiences, what are some lenses that yโ€™all think I should think about buying/renting? I already have the kit lens, and my girl got me a nifty fifty for my bday.

T7i supposedly has the fastest autofocus ever good choice I have the t5i as well as the 6d and love it.

I'd get the 10-18 mm it's cheap and also sharp as hell.

I started out back in 2000 with a camera from work, Panasonic 3000Z 4mp joint, used to borrow it to shoot car shows and anything of interest. Close friend was deep into photography, showed me a Canon 10D that he wanted, I'm like "why would you spend $1,500 on a camera?" He showed me samples online from it and I was impressed. From there I had my eye on a Sony 5mp P&S 590 series I think, then the 717, ended up going with the 828 in 2003, 1st time I spent $1K on anything photography related.

Friend had settled on the Canon 300D Digital Rebel, schooled me on the difference between an actual DSLR and the high-end 828 P&S I had. I kept the Sony for about a weekend, took it back after experiencing horrible CA issues. Was deep on the DP Review forums and website back them. Ended up with Canon Digital Rebel, used the kit lens for awhile, then bought the 50mm f/1.8 and was blown away by the quality.

Got into external flashes and then bought my 1st Alien Bee strobe kit, it was a wrap from there. Sold the Rebel, bought a Canon 30D in '08, around '14 wanted a nicer faster camera, picked up my 7D. Have had nothing but crop bodies, going to add a full-frame here soon. Over the years got heavy into portrait photography especially models, from doing 5yrs of tuner show car coverage coast to coast, learned a lot. Picked up a lot of lighting equipment and accessories and learned how to improve my shooting and do editing. Jumped into weddings, event, cityscape, and product photography over the years. So far have had over 20+ shoots published in magazines. Leaning and improving as I go....
