I started out back in 2000 with a camera from work, Panasonic 3000Z 4mp joint, used to borrow it to shoot car shows and anything of interest. Close friend was deep into photography, showed me a Canon 10D that he wanted, I'm like "why would you spend $1,500 on a camera?" He showed me samples online from it and I was impressed. From there I had my eye on a Sony 5mp P&S 590 series I think, then the 717, ended up going with the 828 in 2003, 1st time I spent $1K on anything photography related.

Friend had settled on the Canon 300D Digital Rebel, schooled me on the difference between an actual DSLR and the high-end 828 P&S I had. I kept the Sony for about a weekend, took it back after experiencing horrible CA issues. Was deep on the DP Review forums and website back them. Ended up with Canon Digital Rebel, used the kit lens for awhile, then bought the 50mm f/1.8 and was blown away by the quality.

Got into external flashes and then bought my 1st Alien Bee strobe kit, it was a wrap from there. Sold the Rebel, bought a Canon 30D in '08, around '14 wanted a nicer faster camera, picked up my 7D. Have had nothing but crop bodies, going to add a full-frame here soon. Over the years got heavy into portrait photography especially models, from doing 5yrs of tuner show car coverage coast to coast, learned a lot. Picked up a lot of lighting equipment and accessories and learned how to improve my shooting and do editing. Jumped into weddings, event, cityscape, and product photography over the years. So far have had over 20+ shoots published in magazines. Leaning and improving as I go....

is photography your full time gig?

your work and photos ive seen in this thread are amazing breh :salute:

and just reading your post its amazing what stood out to me is the why would you spend 1,500 on a camera. That was me I didn't understand why would anyone spend 1,000 pls on a camera or more on a lens.
