Are any of you brehs self taught? I'm looking for a photography workshop in my area but Im in bumfukk maryland and there isn't anything available.

If you're self taught where would you recommend I start as far as teaching myself?
Pretty sure most of us in here are self taught.

The way I got better was by challenging myself with a 365 day challenge. The goal was to basically document a year of your life through photography. It's not easy taking a dope photo everyday, you have to go out and do things, you have to push yourself and be creative. And on top of that, I also would work on them in Adobe Lightroom, so while I was improving my eye for shooting, I was also improving my post processing skills... everyday.

I did that 365 Challenge for 3 year straight. :wow:

I shared a day of my life for the Coli for 3 years in this thread.

The best way is to shoot, and grow your own unique style/look for your images. Tutorials and videos are helpful, but when it comes down to it, you have to come up with ideas and visions for stuff you want to capture.

Good luck :tu:

if there is one thing i've noticed through the years, the camera doesn't mean as much. A skilled photography can make any camera shine. I remember when I first started taking photos and I was like crap I need a better camera etc., then i started joining flickr groups and I was like how the hell is everyone getting all these superb photos while i'm here struggling :to:
time and patience, learn the camera, whatever you get. Learn the ins and outs of photography and you will beo n your way

I remember when I got my full frame I was thinking like :damn: my photos gonna be :banderas:, only even now I still use my crop sensor camera more because it's easier to carry around

Exactly. I started out with a sony fixed lenses camera and maxed the hell out of the setting and the lighting. I was still shooting circles around the guys with full DSLRs shooting in auto mode.
I was in flickr yahoo photo groups and had the guys critique my work. That is how I learned...
