houston.
Lightroom... presets are cool, kinda helps you see how you can change the look of a picture. i dont use them heavy, and i do feel like some people OD with presets, but i suppose it depends on the type of "photographer" you want to be. i kinda made my own personal ones.
Ok, I use some presets but tweak them depending on the image then save it as my own

Do you guys use photoshop or Lightroom for editing? What do you feel about using presets?
My feelings on presets are this

I have like over 600 presets, and I'm honestly never happy unless I make the edits myself. A lot of presets are advertised on pictures that work perfect with the presets, a lot of the time these effects simply make the whole picture blue or purple of green and it just looks ugly as shyt.

If you see a look you like, Google or YouTube how to do that look and teach yourself, this will help you learn the tools. Every few months I learn a new trick, the applications are really ridiculously deep

So this morning I woke up to some pretty shytty news, apparently one of the Fox's I photograph down at the beach was murdered. Some yuppy douche bag from Queens decided to drive the 40 minutes out here to kill the thing with a fukking crossbow. shyt pissed me off.

Anyway, god bless the dead little guy

right. i used to do that, which gave me a base or starting point. then i just started fukkin around with curves and toning and made my own shyt. i have an event i shoot regularly, and use the same setting 90% of the time when i shoot it, i made my own preset for that and saved it. then with some of th eportraits i shoot i have a certain look i'm goign for so i made a preset and saved it for that

some of them presets will never work on your own shyt because your camera settings, WB, and other shyt was just different. so i figured i should learn to do my own shyt

High Speed Liquid and Bubble Photographs by Heinz Maier
by Christopher Jobson

It never ceases to amaze me: just when I think I’ve seen every possible permutation of an artform or technique—be it figurative sculpture, stop motion animation, or in this case, high speed photography—somebody comes along and manages to do something radically different. German photographer Heinz Maier says that he began taking photographs less than a year ago in late 2010. He claims to not know what direction he’s heading in just yet, right now he’s experimenting with macro photography, mostly insects, animals, and these delicate high speed water droplets. Personally, I think he’s found a great direction. There are so many things happening here to make these photographs simply outstanding: the lighting, the colors, the occasional use of symmetry in the reflection of water, let alone the skill of knowing how to use the camera itself. It’s hard to believe these aren’t digital. See much more of his work here.

Brehs. Would you buy an old camera?

I'm looking at either the Olympus M5/10 Mk2 as the 80D and good lens is an it expensive for me right now. They are from 2015, which means they'll probably have a newer version this year

Those two are about £5-600 and the 80D is almost double that. Since I'll be using it for travelling this year, I'd love to save that amount and put it into the travelling instead

I use Lightroom the most, I open up Photoshop when I need to do some precision kind of tool removal that just can't be done on Lightroom. All of the color correction stuff I do for the most part is in Lightroom tho.

I also mess with the IG editing tools which are good for just throwing stuff up on IG. Snapseed is a powerful mobile tool as well, but I haven't used it in a minute.

i dont know shyt about olympus in realtion to canon, that being said... aint shyt wrong with older cameras. camera technology hasnt made any supreme leaps like that recently. only thing you get with new jawns is better low light capabilities, or better autofocus. its professionals out here doing shyt with cameras that came out 8yrs ago. If you do cop an old camera, just make sure the shutter count on the body isnt high.
