I use Model Mayhem and Instagram now, a few years back I was heavy into group shoots, found quite a few from that. I hit shows (auto & motorcycle) and pass out business cards to the local models working booths.

I need help brehs, i like to take pics but i don't know how cameras work like the specs and shyt

I bought this a while back but haven't really used it



So should I go on Youtube, watch Tutorial vids and learn first?

Start with ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed. Usually referred to as "The Exposure Triangle". These are the basics, but they are huge to photography.

She IS like an hot-ugly broad. . I fukks with they thursday podcasts . They have very dry humor but it's good to have on in the background. I like their little series where they go over the history of camera/lens companies.

I finally unsubscribed to the Angry Photog. Sitting here talkin to the screen like "bruh calm down". He knows his shyt but he being going crazy about shyt.


If yall want some good people to follow as far as seeing how to pose models and just handling models and shoots check out Jason Lanier and Manny Ortiz on Youtube. Jason Lanier seem slightly suspect but he knows his shyt. Manny Ortiz is a dope photographer and his wife is bad as fukk.

i've had alot of recent success just with Instagram. Finding girls in my area that want to be models...sounds silly but i'm finally getting into circles of women that want to do shoots. I just sat on IG one day DM-ing some of them like "hey i'm a photographer, i'd like to do a shoot with you, you got a unique/interesting look, check out my page, this could be mutually beneficial, lets link up soon"....haven't had too many "no's". And once you shoot with one, alot of her friends gonna be following you and asking about shooting. And just making sure to walk that fine line to like press them to shoot but you know not too thirsty. Like when you say "soon" be like "this weekend".

Appreciate the insight bruhs. Do yall find most already have a shooting set in mind or do yall already have in mind what you want to shoot them in?

sometimes i just ask them if they have anything in mind. Usually it just ends up with us just shooting out on the street somewhere. Or at certain locations. Some i'll just ask them to bring like a couple outfits or accessories.

haven't paid a single one. One little ratchet girl asked me once i just left her alone. Most just want to build their portfolio. These are girls with dozens of bathroom mirror selfies so most want to be models anyways. Its just a matter of convincing them to set up a shoot date and time.

No problem. I usually have some ideas in mind that I want to do, I will come up with a description or find some idea images online and send them over to them. Most bring over a suitcase or 2 worth of clothes, shoes, and accessories, we both will dig through it and put something together for whats needed. One shoot the model made a dress out of newspaper, I did one of my walls the same as a backdrop, came out pretty good.
