Just playing around with the levels/curves/color saturation/ all that shyt til I like how it turned out. What program are you using to edit, if you are editing?

I use Lightroom.

I just keep messing with different options until I stumble on a style I think looks good.

I will say my vocabulary has grown a bit since using the sliders. Im starting to understand what to adjust in order to get a desired result....but yeah, if Im doing edits to multiple files it would be nice to have some presets to save time.

It's better if you understand how to get the results with the sliders. Sometimes those presets can be a crutch. Some people think of some pics as useless because some presets aren't doing that job, that's why it's better if you understand what the sliders do. And also, utilize photoshop too. But nothing wrong with using presets tho.

I only use the presets for effects and black n white conversions.
other wise I only use the sliders to adjust how I want the subjects to come out.
sharpening
exposure
clarity
noise reduction
vibrance
and more.... I adjust all those before I even add the filters on top

I use that and silver exfex 2 for black and whites
there's another one nik has for hdr conversions as well.

I use Lightroom and then choose a preset then mess a little with blacks, exposure, sharpen a little and voila.
