for yall that mod your shyt, im tired of taking literally an hour before each performence and setting up everything from samples to drums =(. since making the change from the 3000 (which i had to sell) and copping the 2000xl i have some questions

can you really mod it for usb usage?
installing internal drives, do them shyts die on you? id hate to lose all that shyt

adjusting from the 3000 to the 2000 was difficult for me, which is why i had to ask that question about overlaying samples, but since ivebeen performing live again, i really need storage memory

As far as I know you can't mod the mpc 2000 for usb, I heard you can get an external scsi usb drive from mpc solutions but other than that your gonna have to grind through the load times... You can midi/rca connect your mpc to the cpu, and go into your daw and record each track one by one.

I swear I could make an extra beat with all that time wasted during loading times through my external cd/zip drive.

Never heard of someones internal drives dying

I'm this close to putting my 3000 up for sale. As much as I love it I haven't even turned it on in over a month. Been having fun with Battery and Abbey Roads drums and chopping with kontakt (which I didn't even know you could do until recently). I think at this point i'm holding on to it for nostalgic reasons

Ya mpc dont got a usb port? :wtb:

Why dont you jus transfer the files to ya pads and mash out?

I'm just using an mpd right now. But my 3000 has a internal cf card reader so I can transfer files from the computer to the mpc. The 3000 only reads .snd files though so you have to convert them first, which is a pain. I've always sampled all my sounds so it's never been a big issue. I just think I'm over mpcs at this point

yup

Everything post 2000 has a usb

so why my azz jump into the hardware production game years ago and cop the one piece of equipment that doesn't have usb  :dead:

LOL

I'm still glad I learned it... even tho the the 2000xl is :old: some producers would argue it's the illest sound.. I can't really tell the difference tho :mjpls:

Surprised you didn't wait a few months for the MPC Studio and Ren to drop.
