I'm beginning to think I should've waited out and copped a better mpc... the 1000 sounds 
from what I've read. But if I can't master the 1000, whats the use of getting a "better" machine?

Naw. I've had it since 05 and honestly never took the time to sit down and learn it.

You already got it, just take your time. Try to recreate some old tracks like Shook Ones, Criminology etc..

Yes . But bewarned the SCREEN issue in the 2000XL is huge, you might want factor in the cost of replacing the screen ($160-$220) if you cop an XL.
You can probably find a used 1000 for the same price.
