but for a union to take place u have to have 2 willing parties simpatico, as if zuffa are going to co-sign to that when they dont need to. So with that and what i mentioned earlier its a non story

a union will never ever happen in mma. Say jacksons gym starts a union, and then tri star joins as they are familiar with each other and then even a miracle happens all the aka fighters join in. dana will just call blackzillians or att and offer them more money for fights they'll jump on it and say yes, and done. End of union.
The length of a fighters career is so short and chance at big money fights so few nad far between fighters have no leverage to hold out for any issues. Other major sports these guys have longer careers and a longer prime of their careers so they can afford to hold out for issues.

i am amazed at the posters that actually believe this shyt has a legit chance of gettng off the ground.Its a wing and a prayer if ever i heard one
other sports the elite arent exactly replaceable clogs you can just swap for another.If lebron, griffin, rondo and parker decided to make a stand and protest for something the owners will be all ears for the simple fact they are pivitol parts to their respective franchises.No one in mma but gsp maybe can say that not jones, not anderson and not rousey..UFC fighters have no leverage or power to dictate anything.Look at the little famfare that followed kongo/rampage to bellator and the former was a headliner..It just cant be done in mma not at a time like now when starts are nonexistent

A fighters union would not operate like other sports unions do just by the nature of the sport but what could arise is a players association similar to what tennis players have. Basically an organization that provides services for fighters (lawyers, insurance facilitation, financial management etc) and advocates for fighters rights and leverages some power in favor of fighters when dealing with promoters. Right now the way the sport operates everything is dictated by promoters and the commissions, fighters need a way to get a seat at the table when decisions are made
I'm tired of hearing everyone bytch about the decision with Thomson/Bendo. Make a re-match since neither guy will be getting a title shot soon anyway, and I see Dana is on some bullshyt again. How he can say with a straight face Weidman will be number 1 P4P if he beats Vitor is ridiculous. All the other champions have a better claim to that spot although Jones has it at the moment.
Word on the street is that Chael Sonnen and Wand got into a legit fight today and one of the dude's on Wanderlei's team suckerpunched Chael.
