A fighters union would not operate like other sports unions do just by the nature of the sport but what could arise is a players association similar to what tennis players have. Basically an organization that provides services for fighters (lawyers, insurance facilitation, financial management etc) and advocates for fighters rights and leverages some power in favor of fighters when dealing with promoters. Right now the way the sport operates everything is dictated by promoters and the commissions, fighters need a way to get a seat at the table when decisions are made

yeah I can see a players association with a big legal firm on retainer, and a financial services comp under contract. But the problem is the greed n lack of education level of most these fighters will ruin it. When the association says fighters must pay 2% or 5% of their contracts to the association i doubt a guy like nick diaz will be down for that. Or a fighter from outside the US or Can would be down either.

Or knowing the way the fertitas are with unions in vegas and their casinos and Dana with his attitude sometimes, i can see dana and ufc saying str8 out if you use different lawyers than the association's guys then we'll give you a better contract, or maybe make you a main card fighter more often, or special bonus' on the back end. And the commission or nothing can't stop them from doing that. And then maybe taking it a step further say, if your part of the association then your not eligible for the ufc benefits and health plan. And whenever you fight u gotta pay for your drug testing and or fight insurance out of your purse. I could only imagine the fukkery Dana would start.

I'm tired of hearing everyone bytch about the decision with Thomson/Bendo. Make a re-match since neither guy will be getting a title shot soon anyway,

I'm wit u on that. let em rematch it and every1 jus shut up. If either guy really thinks they clearly won it so badly then why'd it go 5 rounds, knock da dude out or break his arm n finish it if you were in so much control. if you can only win because u think u were on top of him for more mins or had his pressed against a cage longer, then go join the wrestling club at sum skool. I really wish judges would score more draws, instead of feeling forced to give sum1 a 10-9 round. by the mma rules your allowed to score a round 10-10 draw.

According to a report from UFC Tonight on Wednesday,Juliana Pena tore her hamstring, MCL, ACL, LCL, and meniscus in training this week, an injury which her coach Rick Little described as the "most gruesome he has ever seen in sports."
