People throw around the word 'bum' around way too often. It seems like any fighter outside the top 10 is now considered a bum and sometimes people call fighters who are in the top 10 bums as well. Will Rumble come into the UFC and take the LHW title? No. Will he put on exciting fights? Definite yes. And he's been on a really good tear. People need to realize that if you fight outside the UFC, you're not going to always fight great competition. Rumble is a top 10-15 LHW, puts on exciting fights, has pilled up a good winning streak and looks to have controlled his weight issues, I (and most fans) believe that's more than good enough for a roster spot in the UFC.

The problem with all of this, is that its all what ifs, couldve shouldve's. The actual truth of the matter is in the UFC Johnson was overhyped and a major disappointment. His most exciting wins were against guys who are not even top 20 far less top 15ranked at the time. His best win on paper was vs Dan Hardy and that fight was a utter and complete snore fest. If Johnson was scared of Dan hardy's power at 170lbs and choose to lay and pray, wha's he gonna do vs legit 205ers in the ufc. he'll prolly shyt himself and miss weight on purpose again. That fight was lay and pray at its worst, I was almost ashamed to say Johnson was a nigguh after that fight. If Johnson couldn't knock out and beat the top guys at a lesser weight class, what makes you think he can fight and compete against the best guys at a even heavier weight class. Sure he can knock out Kyle at 205, but can he even really knock out lil nog at 205? Far less even Thiago Silva who has been in da ring with some top talent. Every1 says the fight against Vitor was exciting and in that fight he missed weight, and still lost 1st round.

Johnson is right where he should be on the smaller circuit knocking out chumps like a sideshow. like damn he couldn't even knock out arlovski's weak chinned ass come on now. Johnson should stay were ever he is n go find Keith jardine and houston alexander and sell some tickets. Enjoy your life brehs.

Michael Johnson steppin in to fight melvin guillard

Wasnt he fighting the khabib at 170 for gilbert? Dude fills in for everyone. He made a smart move because he could probably beat Melvin. Khabib would have worked him

Rumble has def. shown improvement and is at least, a mid-tier 205'er. If Rumble fights the same T. Silva that recently fought Hamill, Rumble KOs him. Also, I'm pretty sure Rumble was winning the Vitor fight before the sub.

If the UFC were to sign fighters based on your criteria, each division would have a [max] 10-15 fighters.

There's no other name out there. Pettis is hurt. Bendo and Thompson fight sat. Gil is not signed. Grant is still not cleared. Diaz is on bullshyt. Johnson and maybe Jim Miller is the only name in the 155lb division right now
Johnson took the fight with Guillard, after Pearson dropped out. It's the co-main event of the Gustafsson v Manuwa card

It's really about time. GSP is the right spokesperson too. He's a respected fighter and promotions respect him too because of his image and pull.
