I think he's already top 5 p4p of all time. If he beats Conor he definitely is. I'm very biased about Aldo, but I think he has one of the best resumes in the sport's history. I wonder how long he'll fight if he wins this weekend. Honestly I think he wants to retire sooner than later.

That's a well thought out argument. Would you at least say he's the best ever below 170 lbs?

Bellator is like 2 promotions. It's weird. On one hand they're a pretty solid promotion that tries to put on competitive fights, and then on the other hand they have the freakshow fight and pro wrestling element sort of rolled up into one. I think that Scott Coker is trying to use the pro wrestling and freak show fight element to get enough views and asses in the seats until they can get some more competitive fighters. If they just had a few of some top 10 division guys over there, they could start to be more of a player. I hope Viacom doesn't look at the short term game the way they did with Glory and cut Bellator early. Bellator has potential IMO.

Your giving Conor too much credit breh.

Cody didn't look good in the work outs.

Rose looked really technical.

Sterling looked beastly.

Sage is either cocky or over confident he literally got on the mat and jumped up and down and left.

Are you going to all 3 fights?

No I'm not breh. Just a spur of the moment trip. My girl told me she wanted to go to Vegas on Monday around noon, 10pm that night we are checking in at MGM. Lucky for us we both are fans and my media background has been doing us well this week.

We have ran into so many fighters and coaches.

Matt Serra, Paige, Sage, Aljamain Sterling, Cody Phifster, Brain Stann, Jorge Masvidal, Gaberial Gonzaga, Jacare, Phillipe Nover, Gunner etc....

What's funny is that a lot of people have no idea who these guys are. There is a huge rodeo tournament here so it's Cowboys and fighters all at the MGM.

Everyone is in reebok gear and the fighters who are on the cards this week have their water gallons.

Rose, Mendes & Aldo are all underdogs. I put $500 on Aldo. I have Rose winning, and I feel Chad can edge out Frankie

I should explain. It's not so much about Conor or Conor's skill set. Aldo has more impressive wins on his resume already.

Aldo has never been in an extended situation for such an extended time where someone has just been chirping off at the mouth over and over. Largely his opponents are very humble and respectful of his skills and what he's accomplished. I'm sure Aldo is not scared of Conor at all, but every time Conor speaks, he is painting a picture of Aldo losing everything he values, which is going to wear on you after such a long time, and I'm sure Aldo is pissed off and tired of it. Now, I personally think Aldo has used it to fuel the fire, and from what I hear from Nova Uniao teammates, he's beasting and is ready to kill Conor in the octagon.

But Aldo winning this fight reminds me of Silva winning against Sonnen the first time. Silva was put in a physical situation that he'd never been in (getting grapplefukked for over 4.5 rounds) and Aldo is in a mental situation he's never been in (having a guy he thinks is undeserving of his time and attention that has been trashing his name and berating him constantly for a long ass time now.)

That and the fact that Aldo has been out of action for so long and no warm up fight to shake off any ring rust.

If Aldo wins it will show how mentally strong he is. Again, not that he really needs to prove it. He grew up in one of the toughest environments in the world and has been slaying savages in the ring for years. He's top 5 pfp of all time.

ppl kept harping about this during the media tour and zuffa employees use it in selling the fight but I don't understand how you can be worn out by gibberish. Aldo doesn't understand a lick of English everything he does is prompted by his opponent to sell a fight. Anything he wants to know about McGregor needs to be told through a translator and that is at his request. If there is anything different about this fight it's that non of his others have got this much hype or attention. Other than that it's business as usual

I agree. But at the very least it's got to be annoying. Forget the trash talk element. Successfully defending a title after a 14 month layoff is impressive. Aldo is only 29 but he has a lot of fighter miles on him. I'm a huge huge Aldo fan. We're a part of the same team. My whole gym is going to be going ape shyt on Saturday night, including me. I'm trying to argue that the win is a good one for him. I'm not saying it'll be the most impressive thing he's ever done, but it's a nice feather in the cap.

I don;t disagree but even without the trash talk, that world tour was stressful for him. He's said it was. He's more of a private person and wasn't all that interested in flying all over the world for that. Lots of people thought they ran that world tour for too long, me included. But yeah I agree it's business as usual. He's gonna go in there and do his thing and chop those legs down.

Aldo does understand "English" he even speaks it here and there.

Both fighters said the world tour was exhausting.

Open workouts for the 4 main fighters on the card will be this morning. Yours truly will be in the building.

Breh, you're really giving Conor too much credit :heh:

Aldo hasn't lost a fight in over a decade and has been dominating the sport for just as long, and as you said is one of the p4p best fighters on the planet. But a dude talking trash in a language Jose doesn't speak with a seriously questionable ground game is supposed to shake Aldo up :skip:

I got my money on Aldo and his leg kicks :wow:

Yo did yall see the pics of Jon Jones next to Arlovski?

Photos: Jon Jones looks massive next to Arlovski, talks 'much better life' at heavyweight

First point: This dude is terrifying, unless his gas tank is severely depleted I can't see anyone at 205 beating him unless he gets caught (and the only one I think could have the KO power on one strike is Rumble).

Second point: That bloated look in the gut is gonna get the "he's juicing" heads in a frenzy. I'm not saying he's doing it, just that the growth combined with a more bloated look is gonna have same cats who scrutinized the hell out of his test levels on drug tests going HAM with assumptions.

Jon Jones is a joke. The real champ already has the LHW belt :skip:
