Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State.
Fuller confirmed that the Buckeyes were his one-time leader before slowing the process down. He gets back to Columbus on Jan. 15.
“After my (first) visit I couldn’t really find any weaknesses with them and that really enticed me a lot,” Fuller said. “Since then I haven’t been there recently so you get (out of sight out of mind). So I’m excited to get back.”
Fuller wants to play cornerback in college and has seen the Buckeyes produce at the position including fellow Jersey native
Eli Apple.
“For sure because I definitely, if I’m capable of it, going to the NFL, I definitely want to do that and they do it at every single position there, corner especially. Their player development on the field as well as off the field, they pay attention to both.”
Ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 5 athlete, Fuller took his first official visit of the process to Notre Dame the weekend of Dec. 11. It was his second time in South Bend.
“When I visited before, none of the players were on campus, so getting around the players was real nice and I liked those guys, and I got around the commits too and that was cool, and obviously the balance between education and football is awesome. I got to watch them them practice too.”
Fuller also talked about the impact of being a Notre Dame alum.
“I spoke to a guy that my dad knows, he works at T-Mobile and he’s a Notre Dame grad, and he spoke really high of how the networking is, it’s extremely real, that was good to know.”
Fuller is excited to get back to Michigan the weekend of Jan. 22.
“I look forward to seeing all the changes they’ve made to the program,” Fuller said. “You know it’s working so that’s really big and their education is great. I see myself fitting in as a corner and on special teams and maybe on the offensive side of the ball, they mentioned that also.
“There is definitely something about Coach Harbaugh you have to definitely look into, and Michigan is just a great school overall, and their football is really big there. I like big fan bases and big football.”
Nobody is recruiting New Jersey this cycle at a higher clip than Michigan with Fuller and
Rashan Gary the remaining two on the board. Michigan has commitments from
Kareem Walker,
Ahmir Mitchell,
Brad Hawkins and Ron Johnson.
“I don’t know them well, I talk to them sometimes,” Fuller said. “It’s something in the back of my mind they love Jersey and they always want to get guys from there.”
Fuller originally planned to visit Penn State the weekend of the 22nd but since his mother has never been to Ann Arbor they switched to Michigan.
“I wanted her to have a full official visit,” he said.
With that being said, Fuller said he’ll likely take a mid-week official to Penn State following the Michigan trip.
“They’re very much in it, it’s just that I’ve visited four or five times already. They’re definitely just a family. I’m a family guy. I like that. They’re going to do big things. They’ve been successful so far.”
Fuller believes he could be real successful playing for Nittany Lions defensive coordinator
Bob Shoop.
“He’s a mastermind,” Fuller stated.
