Top OL Could Be Michigan's One Exemption!
As the 2016 cycle ends, Michigan is looking to pull together the best recruiting class possible. After stealing a running back commit from Ohio State and a big time linebacker from the middle of SEC-country, Jim Harbaugh is only beginning his most impressive Singing Day act yet.

As many know, 5-star defensive tackle Rashan Gary is a very, very likely candidate to commit to Michigan on National Signing Day. With his mom as a huge Michigan supporter, Gary will be visiting Michigan again for an unofficial later in January.

Gary is great friends with five-star running back Kareem Walker, a recent Wolverine early enrollee, and Gary has gone as far as saying Walker is his “best friend.” With that notion in the open, Gary has received recruiting pitches from the other New Jersey Michigan boys—Brad Hawkins, Ahmir Mitchell and Ron Johnson.

So assume Rashan Gary commits to Michigan, which is looking extremely likely… since Michigan clearly whiffed on four-star offensive linemen Terrance Davis and Jean Delance during the Under Armour All-American game, Michigan is angling to make a splash in the future. If all goes as intended, that will come in the form of another highly touted offensive linemen.

Sam Webb of Scout.com reported that Michigan is expecting a visit from a top OL recruit in the month of January. Based on our homework and sources, that recruit is identified as Greg Little, a five-star Ole Miss commit. Gary and Little have attended many recruiting events together and have formed a bond on the circuit.

The rumor on the street is that Michigan still has one academic exemption to use once it formally ends ties with two defensive recruits. When that happens, Greg Little will be worked into the picture as a verbal commit in Michigan’s 2016 class if all goes well on his January visit.

Apart from that recruiting victory, Michigan is still in the mix for several top recruits. Michigan has not given up pursuit of five-star Isaac Nauta, and with only Nauta, Jacob Mathis and Dwayne Allen on the board, the coaching staff has to know something about one of those three prospects to keep the board so limited.

Earlier in the week, Michigan LB signee Devin Bush Jr. posted a tweet that signified the Wolverines’ class is about to get even more impressive. The word is that Bush spoke with Gary, and the 5-star Paramus Catholic recruit informed the UM LB of his plans.

Look for Harbaugh to continue forming the most complete, talented 2016 class that he can in the month remaining before NSD.

Not putting much stock into this but if this were to happen:wow:would be the ultimate payback for stealing Treadwell from us fukk Ole Piss:pacspit::pacspit:.Henson is the same guy that said Josh Rosen to Michigan:usure:

Lol Rosen comes from old money east coast Jewish family and old money Jews view Michigan as Ivy caliber. It made sense but Jim came too late in the game for him

So about that Jordan Elliot kid:dame: @BarNone

SAN ANTONIO, TX --- Top50 defensive tackle Jordan Elliott committed to Michigan last month, ending a hectic process that included two previous verbals to Baylor and Houston. However, his pledge to the Wolverines looks to be his last, as he and his mom were on the same page this time.

"Just getting up there and being able to see it for myself," Elliott said about why Michigan ended his process. "They treated us right. My mom loved it up there. Spending four years there is going to be exciting. My mom really liked it up there a lot, which made it a lot easier."

Momentum continues to build for the Michigan program both on and off the field, as the Wolverines beat up on Florida in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on Saturday. Elliott said it's what he thought would happen after being on campus for an early bowl practice in December.

"It was expected," he said. "I expected them to win pretty easily the whole time. I remember when I was up there with them while they were practicing, it's just something you expect at Michigan. It shows our potential as a program and we just have to be more consistent in a game-to-game situation going forward."

One of the major draws at Michigan has been that of head coach Jim Harbaugh, whose winning pedigree and intense personality has attracted top recruits from around the country. Elliott said he's one of the most unique people he's ever been around.

"He's just a mystical person," he said laughingly. "He always looks at you in the eyes when he's talking and then he'll say things when he starts to look away. It's pretty funny. I've never described anybody as mystical before either."

One transition that's already taken place since Elliott's commitment to the Wolverines is at defensive coordinator, where D.J. Durkin's departure for Maryland opened up the door for Harbaugh to hire former Boston College DC Don Brown. Brown's MO is aggressiveness both up front and on the blitz, and Elliott believes it was a hire that will fit his skill-set perfectly.

"Don Brown is a great coach," he said. "He's going to allow our defensive line to be more aggressive and we're going to blitz the quarterback a lot more. I think he blitzes something like 80 or 90 percent of the time."

Elliott's recruitment with the two aforementioned verbals have other programs continuing to push for his services, but at this point he says he's not even answering the phone anymore.

The main program still pushing is Texas, a school that many believed Elliott favored until late in his recruiting process when his Michigan visit turned things around. Despite a public admiration for Charlie Strong and the Texas coaching staff, he's not sold on the Longhorns' future.

"Schools try to contact me on a daily basis and I don't respond." he said. "There's a bunch that still try to contact me and I don't respond to them. I only talk to Michigan coaches. They were talking to me and telling me how I would fit in. I've been to Texas many times and the last time I went up there it wasn't really the same. A lot of it is about stability. You never know about the stability of a program. It's different with Coach Harbaugh at Michigan though." :ohhh:

Michigan, led by defensive line coach Greg Mattison, has continued to push for more top recruits in the state of Texas to try to add them to the fold. It's a long trip to Ann Arbor from Dallas or Houston, and Elliott was blunt when discussing how it's gone so far trying to get his fellow statesmen to join him.

"It's been tough," he said. "Jean committed to Texas yesterday. Good luck to him. There are a few more I am trying to get. I don't really think Dontavious (Jackson) will end up at Michigan. I think we have a chance with Chris (Brown) though. I'm very comfortable going from Texas to Michigan. Hopefully down the road I can make that connection with some future Texas recruits that are interested in the program as well."

Elliott is considered one of the top overall recruits in the country, and is a player within striking distance of a fifth star with a good week at the Army All-American game. The four-star is currently ranked 45th overall in the 2016 class, good for seventh in the cycle at the defensive tackle position.

:manny:shame about Jackson whatever.

Josh Newkirk saying its not Little so put that to rest
:patrice:. But yeah, Jackson was never coming so I'm not even worried about that. I think Jean in Michigan at heart. If more big recruits start to go there, he might switch up.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Detroit (Mich.) King Top100 cornerback Lavert Hill may make his college decision this coming Saturday at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

“I’m not for sure,” Hill said at check-in Sunday. “I got to talk to my mom and see what she says about it. It’s kind of up to her.”

The decision itself is up to Hill. He says he “kind of” has an idea where he’s going if he announces.

“It’s really up to two schools right now. Michigan and Michigan State. It’s real close. It’s kind of like 50-50.”

Hill has been a regular at Michigan this fall, watching his older brother Delano Hill start in the secondary.

“It’s grown pretty big,” Hill said of his relationship with Jim Harbaugh and the staff. “It’s a great turnaround right now. I see a great fit at Michigan. The whole defense is pretty good. They run man defense a lot so I like that.”

Hill loved watching another Detroit native in Jourdan Lewis have a big year for the Wolverines.

“It was pretty big because I talk to Jourdan Lewis probably every day,” Hill said. “He helps me a lot with my game and I watch him a lot.”

When Hill received his Army Bowl jersey during the fall he told 247Sports that the Spartans were actually out for him but that’s obviously changed.

“I’ve just been talking to the coaches a lot, Coach Barnett and Coach Dantonio, I’ve been talking to them and watching their season.”

The Michigan State results speak for themselves.

“Just their track record with corners, sending them to the league and their defense has been good the past couple years and they have a good defensive coordinator in Coach Barnett.”

247Sports ranks Hill as the nation’s No. 6 cornerback and No. 66 recruit overall.

Do we have room to take both Long and Hill? Do you think Sir Patrick Scott will stay committed or the staff will let him go?
