I been meditating twice daily in the morning and after dinner and this shyt helps...I just feel an extra sense of calmness about whatever I’m doing so when I’m growing I grind with a sharper focus.

only about 1 month into this routine so lets see where this goes

I need to get back into my yoga and meditation. I’d do yoga first thing in the AM and end the night with 15-30 mins of meditation. shyt does wonders for you mentally and physically.

Trying to run every day this month (at least 3 miles a day) and I’m on day 16. Went out in the windy ass rain and banged out 5 miles. Never did a whole month before but the shyt feels good. Halfway to the finish.

Downloaded a bunch of books to the iPad and haven’t cracked one open yet but people have been raving about the David Goggins joint so I’m gonna start it tonight.

I got the Goggins book on Audible. Different from the print edition because he sort of has a podcast with each chapter. Very good tho. I highly recommend it...Goggins himself emphasizes that people shouldn't do exactly what he did, because he went to extremes. But he does encourage people to push their boundaries.

Roger that...

breh i know people are bytching about how hard times are right now but this is the perfect time for folk to get their shyt together. Unless you are literally sick ain’t no reason to come outta this shyt :flabbynsick: but we know so many will.

I’m blocking out the bullshyt and staying consistent as possible. No one knows when this shyt will be over but you should know when you could go run or hit the park and work out (or lift if you have the luxury of a home gym)

And for those not into fitness, use the damn time to get them certs up or learn some new shyt. I can’t be all bad for everyone. Find that silver lining because it exists.

Been on my grind, hittin that Kundalini Yoga to work on focus and flexibility. Bought a nice breathing mask to make my runs tough. Dusted off my language app full of African languages. I feel like I’m ready to walk that Mamba Path......:blessed:

Let’s get to it brehs! :blessed:

I’ll admit, I rediscovered my test anxiety tryna do this cert shyt so I’m gettin more aggressive with the studying. Copped a CCNA study guide and I’m giving myself til my bday next month to get this shyt done. :birdman:

So I’m officially on that meditation wave brehs. Twice daily for over 2 months now.

Took a new job with 25% pay increase and an extra week vacation

Also the pandemic is a great time to network and cold call brehs. Damn near everybody working from home now. Before it was harder because a C-level executive could hit me with the “I’m travelling to some important conference” or some shyt. Nowadays everybody posted at the crib so you gotta talk to me now:ufdup:

Something to take from Goggins book and interviews is that...we should be doing the things we don't want to do.

Goggins said that in the most direct way but I have gotten that message from other authors and people all my life.

And it isn't about dumb things. Like "I don't wanna do drugs so I should do drugs".

It is more about that voice in everyone's mind that chooses the comfortable thing over the more difficult, right thing we should be doing. Because that's where the growth is. And it isn't always physical. It could be something as simple as throwing out the trash now instead of later.

Put in the work. Every day. Not because you want to. Want has little to do with it. We have to.

I'm referencing Goggins but to be fair to this thread, that is something Kobe certainly inspired others to do. Put the work in.

How’s the meditation going? I did it before some years back and I can say I noticed a difference with mood and mindfulness. You meditate in yoga normally but I want to add meditation to my regular routine outside of yoga. I looked up a real mystical form of meditation from Tibet called Dzogchen. They use derivatives of this practice in Shaolin Temples. shyt is like the higher end meditation but you probably gotta get good enough with your mind like that to hit those levels.

This is prime time game right here.

I sat down to my piano and finally cranked out the rhythm of a track I'm performing and it's almost done. Getting it up to speed right now but it really took 5 minutes to get the rhythm when I was stuck for days.

After putting the work in things start to click because you forced the issue. My teacher always says that I can do it but don't because I don't push myself.
:wow:

It's easy to lay back and chill in comfort. Standing in pressure forces you to expand outside of current dimensions.

I'm not trying to be another dude with potential all saved up when he's 40. Force the issue while my mind is right and crank out what I know can and can't be done.
