Joe be wanting people to have as many L's to their name as he does so he doesn't feel alone, not surprising at all he prolly wanted Mal to be out here getting pressed and burning bridges like his dumbass does

I noticed this. He was in Royce and Karen Civil's ear heavy when they took their respective Ls last year

The podcast was floundering before Mal jumped on board. He’s far from the sole reason for its success or even the main reason but the dynamic between the three is what made the podcast get popping. I was a day 1 listener. Joe, Rory, Marissa combo was very meh. The highlights were Marissa telling her wild run ins with rappers. The Drake views rant got them some boost but it wasn’t sustainable. After Marissa left, the podcast was kinda just dead in the water until Mal came. These are facts
I was a day one listener as well. Had heard every episode and it became so weak that I gave up about 5-6 episodes before they added Mal. I still followed the threads. When Mal got added comments started saying how much better the show got and how much of a spark he added which convinced me to catch back and become a hardcore fan.

I’m still a regular listener of the pod and really like the dynamic with Ish and Ice, but I honestly didn’t start listening to the pod until Mal came on. Prior to that I tried and couldn’t get into it. That dynamic really changed the trajectory of the pod.

Mal did not get the pod to pop. It was Joe being attached to some of the biggest artists whether it was beef or comments he said about them. Joe name was in damn near every headline because of the pod from 2015-2018

it’s a reason we say 2015 is still going. The fukkery that year took Joe to another level

All facts

I distinctly remember listening to a few episodes after Joe and Rory were on Brilliant Idiots, thinking it was gone be fire but it was hella mid

I would listen here and there whenever my other pods weren't out for the week and it was ok from time to time

When Mal came the recipe was perfected, so in a way he did pop it off

Play the lotto the day Parks publicly calls Joe out on something…anything.

Parks loves playing everything off like it’s not a big deal when it comes to Joe’s ways. Not surprising though because they’ve been working together for like 15 years or so.

Abused wife syndrome

Joe probably provides at least 25 percent of his income

fukkin right its alright, cut the check

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
ES and Joe leaving ES had a lot to do with pod popping
Actually, yes. This was the moment that made it pop imo.

But, had the JBP been just the Rory and Joe or Rory Joe and Mel version, it may not have been good enough to take advantage of the opportunity.

Lady London interview was kinda bleh, but I appreciate the fact she doesn't let Joe get away with just saying anything. She called him out on him initially dismissing her when Mal brought her name up on the show.

When Surf showed up it picked up

The thing is, being agreeable with Joe or argumentive pretty much plays zero role in how he'll treat you or his loyalty to you.

But you're right in that we all have tried to or are currently trying to curry favor with our bosses. So I completely get it.
