Yup

Read the 100 years war in Palestine
I’ve read that book. :pachaha:

Thanks for confirming you are a Hamas apologist. :skip:

Seriously. The entire framing of his book is that Palestine is unquestionably and always has been Arab land. He overlooks previous historical context of the Arabization of that land, the fact that Palestinians never actually controlled that land, and supports endless wars because in his misguided view Israel should not exist.

Using his book to say it isn’t religious is a big stretch. Because his views on Zionism are pre Holocaust and entirely religious in its foundation..

let’s be honest though, Rashid Khalidi wrote 100 years war as a sort of protest against what he views as a failure in the Oslo accords.

Based on his writing he feels the PLO gave up too much.

Interestingly enough, he doesn’t draw a distinction between Hamas and Gazans. Instead views them as a justifiable extension of their experiences.

He also recognizes what a few of us have said. Gazans and Hamas are still holding onto a war that the rest of the Arab world has moved on from.

The attack on October 7 was a Hail Mary. The response was as expected, even though tragic. And the hope that Israel’s response would draw Arab nations in the region into the conflict in a meaningful way has failed.

It doesn’t matter what your views are on Zionism at this point. It’s time to accept, if you’re Palestine, that they won. Now make peace with it and try and carve out a meaningful existence in what you have left.

An Jewish person pre-1930s wouldn’t have given up and the opportunity at that land, at great cost, was given to them not because they won any wars but because Westerners didn’t want them in their lands.

The Palestinians will never accept losing their land in a war they had no say in while being treated as second class citizens and a certain segment of Jews will never allow not having total control over it.

Weird to frame it as "Palestinians need to accept that they've lost" and not "Israel needs to accept that it's over." Because what "accepting the loss" looks like is still extreme subjugation and oppression, being forced to stay in an open air prison, food and goods being restricted purposefully to the point of near starvation, occasional "mowing of the lawn," snipers killing innocent men, women, children, journalists, etc with impunity, not being allowed to fish in their own waters, allowing more and more settlers to expand into the West Bank, apartheid, constant apprehensions and detainment of men, women and children without legal justification (aka kidnapping and hostage taking), rape and molestation of their women and children being done with impunity, soldiers raiding the homes of innocent families in the middle of the night pointing guns in their children's faces for the sake of military training, having their land and homes stolen or bulldozed with nowhere to go, etc, etc. Calling for someone to accept that as their life is deeply immoral, and frankly should have societal consequences in the US.

So when you see people like @Pressure and the others call for Palestine to accept the loss, they say this knowing that this is what they are asking for. Telling someone they need to carve out a meaningful existence under those circumstances is psychopathic. The PA has basically already accepted the situation and yet the West Bank has not been spared and still suffers atrocity after atrocity.

Israel curtailing their expansionist aggression is the only path to peace and everyone knows it, including the Coli genocide defense force.

A Palestinian state has never been established and that land has been controlled by other groups for over 1000 years.

:manny:

They can keep fighting and losing if that’s what they want.

Props to @88m3 for being brave enough to blatantly show the racist double standard he believes in. Most racists try to hide their true feelings. Not this guy. Loud and proud.

I'm not advocating fighting to the last child like some of you guys but I'm the bad guy sure

lol at calling me a racist when the whole premise of of the anti-Israel movement is killing Jews

You talk about true feelings? You're projecting, Buddy. The naked racism directed at Jews online and in real life is shameless.

It's sad that you try to frame yourself as a leftist and humanist and ignore this truth.
