Another up...

But is anybody getting hit with this problem with Plex?

"Video Unavailable" Error On Roku - Page 3 - Roku Streaming Players - Plex Forums

If anybody has had this error and fixed it, let me know.

I never did fix this-
my wife would try to watch true blood from plex on the Roku and it would go out at random times from the ROKU with that message you saw, sometimes the stream would not even start , sometimes 20, 30 minutes into an episode.
I think I read somewhere on XDA developers that plex is trying to transcode from the server and the Roku then tries to transcode from that and it causes issues on certain types of file formats
( that was months ago so I could be missing a lot of the details , but I think that was it.

I eventually went out and bought an Android TV box

here is my post from the XBMC thread

http://www.thecoli.com/posts/7978470/

My plan is to have my HTPC in the living room and these boxes throughout the house where the spare tv's are.

after we got this , my wife is actually pushing for us to cut the cord in August when the contract runs out.
she doesn't like messing around with a computer just to watch tv.

Man, you know what I ended up doing to get my content that I download to my TVs? I play them on my PC browser (Chrome) with Plex Media Manager and then cast it to my Chromecast. The framerate is a lil ehh, but it doesn't stop like when I stream it straight to the Roku.

It just absolutely SUCKS that the shyt stopped worked out of nowhere though. But this workaround will do for now, til I actually take some time out to really dig in and see WTF is wrong with this.

I accidently smashed my Logitech Harmony One over the weekend. :snoop:

I stopped by Best Buy and replaced it with a Harmony Smart Keyboard.

Harmony Smart Keyboard Remote - Logitech

shyt is perfect for an HTPC setup. It controls all my devices with the included harmony hub and also comes with 2 USB receivers, which I have connected to my HTPC and PS4. There's also an app they give you so you can control everything from your phone/tablet.

I may just end up tossing the roku's in the bushes and just ride with the android tv boxes

I'll be starting on my first HTPC in the coming days (parts in transit), so this thread (and a couple others) has helped a lot!:salute:

Had some free time on Saturday, so I setup sickbeard and couch potato. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. :banderas:

Have to say I've never looked into sickbeard or couch potato... Can someone give a quick rundown on what the benefits are?

i think they both do basically the same thing.

Havent gotten either to work so idk :yeshrug:
The ultimate PVR application that downloads and manages your TV shows
Sick Beard is a PVR for newsgroup users (with limited torrent support). It watches for new episodes of your favorite shows and when they are posted it downloads them, sorts and renames them, and optionally generates metadata for them. It currently supports NZBs.org, NZBMatrix, NZBs'R'Us, Newzbin, Womble's Index, NZB.su, TVTorrents and EZRSS and retrieves show information from theTVDB.com and TVRage.com.

Awesome PVR for usenet and torrents. Just fill in what you want to see and CouchPotato will add it to your "want to watch"-list. Every day it will search through multiple NZBs & Torrents sites, looking for the best possible match. If available, it will download it using your favorite download software.

Thanks, I actually rather download things manually from private sources and move them to the folder I want. The rips are always named in a way where XBMC can do all the metadata stuff for me with no issues. Those do look good though for people that rather have it completely hands off.
